Fryeburg Fair 2023
« on: September 28, 2023, 11:51:29 AM »
Getting ready for the annual Fryeburg Fair here in Maine. From October 1st through October 8th. My wife and i go up with friends and have a blast. It's about 90 minutes through the most beautiful country you'll ever see. But apart from the rides and food, the racing is really great. From the rail to the top of the old grandstand, it is packed with folks. The usual Maine drivers are there and the fields are usually full. So if any of you "ploppers" are going, let me know! I can use all the winners i can get! LOL! Have a great thursday.....Rega rds, Dougie!

Say hi to Bruce.  We try to hit 2 fairs in Maine per year.  This year was Union and Showhegan

I saw pictures on harneslink from last year with the mild winter, I think it was at Cumberland and they were racing into Mid December. Showed Bruce way out in front with big puffy snowflakes falling all around him.  Looked kinda romantic.

I love it too Bello! It's the last fair of the season here in Maine. They keep telling us they want to build a small new track here in southern Maine. But i'm not sure that will ever happen!

I spent 20 straight years in Old Orchard Beach for a least 2 weeks at a time when my kids were kids.

Scarboro Downs would be packed with french Canadians.

Also vacation at Millinocket Lake or other lakes up there fairly often. Wife is from Millinocket.
