Announcer Kenny gets Northfield job

Sam McKee had all the right tools and was easy on the ears.I  don't think I ever heard Sam make wrong or  inconsistent blunders. He was the only announcer that I've ever seen go to the paddock and ask a driver or trainer for the correct pronunciation of their name if it looked like a tricky one.

I like Sam as an announcer also. Funny, I had a horse few years a current announcer always pronounced it's name wrong.  I can see Sam taking the time to get the horse's name right. He seemed like a  very dedicated and down to earth person.

Agree, he could leave out "second turn", get more excited on and say final turn / stretch bs and action lacked in his first race stretch call Wednesday, this track don't exactly have fans they have gamblers who could tell by the first half fractions if they can rip up tickets or have a shot. 

My ex-fiance is hovering over the bed, I asked what's up, she said you just called a race, I asked her who won and she didn't know.  Dumb bitch!

Good question, found this and multiple listings for the job, but no salary just unreasonably low estimates when listed......so I imagine it was negotiated and hopefully moving expense costs too!
