Very hard to believe that Bret Pelling would do business with a deadbeat like Riad.

From here on out anyone that gets stiffed by Riad pretty much deserves it because it’s now common knowledge that he’s bad pay.

Something makes no sense. Last year was written that he comes for a Royal family. he even turned down hundreds of millions for his land.

Egyptian Royalty Comes To Harness Racing

Although he only bought his first Standardbred in late September, Joe Riad has already had great success. In a span of just over two months, Riad’s horses—all of which are trained by Marc Mosher—have posted 10 victories, including three winner’s circle trips last Sunday afternoon at Harrah’s Philadelphia. A native of Kuwait born into an Egyptian Royal Family, Riad carries the title of Duke. He came to the US when he was 15, settling in Pennsylvania. “My dad bought land here and I came here to go to college,” said the 40-year-old Riad. “I expanded my real estate holdings from investments in gold. I took some profits off the table and bought a lot of land in Chester County and some land in Delaware. “I’ve always loved horses. I played polo and also did some trail riding, which we call fox hunting here in this area.” Included among the Pennsylvania land purchased by Riad eight years ago was the farm founded by Dana Irving, which had been sold about 15 years earlier to Princess Lula of Kuwait to use for her Arabians. “I was born in Kuwait and my father was the right-hand man to the brother of the Ruler, who was the Prince of Kuwait,” explained Riad. “That’s how we got to know Lula and the farm and the land.” Riad said as soon as he bought the farm, he received offers from local officials to sell. “The township has been pushing me to put 1,200 homes on the property and turn a profit of $300 million off of it,”

It just goes to show you , don’t believe everything you read.   If Dr Dye let the bills get that high without any payment, that wasn’t very smart.  The bottom line is Mr Riad is making a name for himself and it’s not a good one.  I wonder if at some point the USTA gets involved or  racing commissions.
