Joey B was brought in last night at the Meadowlands for his antics on May 29th in the 7th race which resulted in an accident that caused Incredible Shark’s death.

Result:

Suspended 20 days
Fined $5,000
Warned that similar behavior will causes him to be banned

The owner of Incredible Shark is contemplating suing Bongiorno.

Not sure yet when he will begin to serve the days.

I doubt it. It’s horse racing. He’s trying to get the most out of his horse in the legal way they allow. Since they took whips away it makes it a lot harder to get the most out of your horse. If they suspend him for that it would absolutely be ridiculous. If a horse is going to fall it’s going to fall. There’s nothing you can do to stop it.

actually there is something a driver can do to stop a horse falling or at least minimize it

No doubt when the money is down Joe will drive as hard as he has to to try to get the win. The money was down and he overdrove and he along with other drivers could have been hurt seriously. Two words
