The plan since the 2013 decoupling in on Ontario has been to shrink the industry in half..leaving Woodbine/Mohawk/Western Fair and Flamboro operational..all others phased out,,3 harness tracks,1 thoroughbred track..Mr Dalton McGuinty(Lib) was the man behind the plan..he's a special kind of corruption.!!

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLAN

wow, the industry takes one up the dirt chute and this is how they respond

“On behalf of the horse racing industry and the thousands of families who depend on it, I would like to thank the Premier’s Office and local health authorities for providing some much-needed clarity,” said Jim Lawson, CEO, Woodbine Entertainment

and still likely 3 weeks away

ford has lost it
he has no clue what to do
listens to the medical people to his own peril
the usa is heading in one direction and ontario going the opposite
he threw people a few crumbs today

.. the facts are where Woodbine is located is a cesspool. You have factories all around and a residential area with multiple families living in same dwelling. Many of those same factories have had large outbreaks of Covid and had to be shut down
.... we will see some changes once we get up and running.

Great comments..right on about the area............. ..........I did a Census followup in that area 5 years ago........knocki ng on doors to ask why they didn't complete their Census , as required by law...........man y people answered their door  and said " this is not my place .. I am just staying here for a while".......whose place is it " Don't know".........How many people are staying here  ?    "I don't know".........how many do you think were legalized residents.....the re fore no health card..no vaccination...... and probably afraid to try and get a vaccine...and get caught being in Canada illegally..  This is not California....... ...rules are usually followed.  The whole area around Woodbine is like that.  The runner's grooms etc are probably OK...but once they leave the grounds......the area is contaminated.
Ontario will have to vaccinate all these illegals to protect the rest of the population

I read the Lawson article from HRU. He pretty much admits that HE couldn't get the Ministry of Health to understand that horseracing is an outdoor sport lmfao.
If he cant even do that, WTF is he being paid 750k for?

canadian immigration policy(or lack thereof) is a joke
they are imported to prop up liberal votes
most have no skill and do not contribute to the economy, they drain from the economy
and then they bring over 85 yr old parents to use the health care system
and yes the area around woodbine is one of the worst

at least lawson pushed back and didn't pull any punches on  how brutal the government and health officials have been to the industry
we have all know for months the hotspots and details iceman described and the government has finally got aggressive nd tackled that issue and lo and behold cases started dropping
there was no reason mohawk needed to be shut at all
criminal in my books and many will never recover
