Most tracks lose money every time they race cause 2% of online wagering doesn't cover the cost of racing Roberts, International Sound, United Tote,  Judges, Racing Office, Track Crew and what other cost there are. Live handle is dead there are usually more people in the Paddock than the Stands. Purse money comes the Casino's that were put in place to save Racing and we all see how well that worked.
The casinos were put in to help the state governments that continuously waste money. In order to get the voter’s approval they needed the racetracks to agree to have them on their property. In order to get the support needed the states gave horse racing a very small piece of the pie

Now it's time to decouple and turn the small piece which is gigantic compared to before and turn it into no piece and kick out all the corrupt assholes.

If I remember right horsemen across the country rallied to have the Casino's to be put at the tracks so they could continue to race without having any fans to support them.

It's always about horse racing welfare here , but now come the farmers welfare subsidies again due to tariffs.  All to the tune of 12 Billion dollars in handouts on top of what they get already making 40 billion for the year. Trump gave them 23 extra Billion on top last time due his tariffs in his first term . Plenty of them have tons of  money who will get them, some are near bankruptcy.  But that welfare and socialism is ok correct?

PS the farmers wanted to work for a living, the tariffs and cutting food programs for the poor where the government bought their surpluses destroyed that for them. But it is selective "welfare" as other industries are affected negatively by the tariffs too.  It turn out John Deere Tractors have gone up in price and cost that company 600 million dollars due to tariffs and caused an increase in the price of tractors which is you guess it, paid by the same farmers getting bailed out. But since the farmers have no money they can't afford to buy them anyway! Oh and John Deere laid off 330 American workers due to the tariffs to contain costs and due to low demand.

Guess who else buys tractors and farm equipment that costs them more, yes harness racing people.  Everyone pays the tariffs and loses.
