Very nice horse. I remember him well. Enough Talk was the very first trotter ever to break 150. He didn't do much as a 2, got better at 3 and he did compete and win a NJSS. He got better at 4 and Paul Kelly had him. Jim Morrill drove him and told me he might be for sale. First they wanted a lot of money and he was overpriced, and they knew it, LOL. They changed their mind, turned him out, and brought him back at 5. Peter Kleinhans ended up buying him, and as they say, the rest his history. He had a very nice career as an aged trotter and his resume ended up with plenty of Open wins, the Su Mac Lad, the American Nation, the Titan Cup, third in the Elitloppet, and second and/or third in another race or two in Europe, and of course, the Breeders Crown.

if I am not mistaken that mile was at Colonial--a one turn mile

not to belittle his effort-- of course he was one of those tough old iron horses who battled all the top trotters in his day

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
