Mohawk Million

I think this is the best field the race has ever attracted.  Prior versions have had a mixed bag of standouts and those who didn’t belong.

Apex, Ardonne, Endurance, Dublin Hanover, Strobe Lite, and AI all seem like legit contenders.  Diabolic Hill as well if he returns to prior form and I could see Silverstein or Cambridge Hanover at least picking up a piece if the trip works out.

Should be a really nice betting board as well

You're correct about this being the best assembled, most competitive but this race is what's wrong with the business.

Shit betting race, another two year old race for rich owners and now they let cunts like cassie and others buy and sell slots to make money.

Seems better to have the owners subsidize than the states jurisdiction.  Also the ability to buy and resell allows competent horses to compete.  I’m guessing Endurance, Ardonne, and Diabolic Hill are not part of this if that isn’t the case

From a betting perspective I expect there will be tons of value given how deep the field is which will open up the exotic payouts as well.  Probably a breaker or two but such is the deal with trotters

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
