One of the best ever in my opinion.  He's stayed at a high level for many decades and all things equal i still say he could compete with anyone.

Agreed. He's performed and maintained at the highest level for decades. As far as still competing, if he has the desire, yes, I agree. Time and age are undefeated, but he still has the skills and ability to compete. Desire is up to him.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: Pretty cool speaking on the steps of city hall. Imagine someone who fights for the horses, not jamming needles and tubes in them like your heroes.  [link]
