Basically you are right but the funniest thing is to watch Amac's video where he tries to convince his sheep what a wonderful selector of horses he is and a great bargain hunter. Perfect example is where he bought a colt for $20K claiming he had him priced at $62K. Hey dumbass no one except for you thought he was worth $21K...Amac may be right but please quit patting yourself on the back and getting people to believe that you are Ron Burke Jr. Got to love how his spends other peoples money. Should rename the stable to OPM stable

burke dominates and he doesn't even need to sped big dollars, sprinkle in a few homebreds
of course virgil still a factor and beaver on the trotters
luther buys and breeds some but with limited success
as for the stable , its a lottery, for the most part its out of favor sires from mediocre pedigree and hope to get lucky
no matter what they cost the profit on the training bills is still the same so more cheaper ones are better

The sales toppers will always be there but the mid stuff continues to shock me.  I just can’t wrap my head around the number of $30-50k horses sold.  If you aren’t consistently 2nd or 3rd in the sire stakes it’s hard to sniff $20k in earnings

50-60k is the new 25-35k baby at the sale . One trainer basically sweeps the program yet buyers as a whole have more money to spend there year after year . It really is wild . Monte mikis looked exceptional so maybe another decent sire to add to seaside and summa

Curious, does AMac pull blood at the sale b4 purchasing?   No one and I mean no one that I’ve ever spoke with talks about pulling blood more than this politician.

Don't think so but I've pretty sure he puts a dog chain on them to see if they will be a good fit for the stable.

Historically that’s always been a great sale.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
