That's the only thing I agree with him on. Why do the "deserve" handouts? Stand on your own two feet or get a new profession. Everything else SCM spews is bullshit and because of his personal grudge with Mark Ford and Goshen historical track. If you didn't know, SCM was shit-canned for having a big mouth!

Been with Hochstetlers over 20 years and made money every single year. Training bulls are very reasonable and they always have a great game plan. They turn away owners if they even think there might be a problem. Every year they get the babies ready early, then ease up over summer and let the big guns beat each others brains out, then scoop up the fall money big stakes. I told you guys in may about Ponda and you all laughed. When the smoke cleared, he ended up being the best 3 year old Indy bred. With jay and crew, you’re not a number and they don’t kiss your ass if you have a million or a hundred. Anyone who has money can buy horses and talk shit. Don’t mean a thing. I woujd put Hochstetlers against anyone pound for pound. They won’t take just any fool with money. If they sense problems with a person who is a millionaire, they don’t care, they will not train for you, period. Swoodall has been around Chicago harness a long time. He thought he knew it all but Erv busted him out. It happens. You just move on and know that it happens a lot in the big barns. Those big time trainers will kill you. Ask John Leahy and big Tom lewandowski about joe Anderson. Same thing with Erv miller. They win races at a big clip but trainer is the only one making $$$. Owners lose their asses.

Damn, that's not close. Still need to factor in yearling cost, bills, etc to see how much of a better year Erv had. And how close people are to getting investment back. But it all boils down to you and the other owners feeling like you are getting your money's worth. That's all that matters in the long run. I do hope you spoke about keeping them fresh for the big night in October. You had a nice year, but should've been much better. You have some nice ones.

It’s not an apples to apes comparison. Erv has anywhere between 75-100 horses at his fingertips at all times. Homer probably 12-15. I’ve watched these guys over the years and also Erv came around Chicago much later than homer, I’m telling you homer always had good colts year after year. Homer abdconnie never wanted to deal with lots of different owners. Erv don’t care who you are if you got money. I like both guys buy I Wouk did probably choose+homer.
