Thank you to everyone who reached out to Joe & I. Thankfully, Joe is doing okay. He has no broken bones, just very sore. Accidents are by far the scariest part of our business & last night was a nightmare, but we are beyond thankful that Joe and the others involved are okay

Been watching him for months. When they bet their money he scores them down fast goes to the front pops the plugs at the 3/4 pole opens up beats slashes and humps his way to the wire. Problem I have is he does not drive this way all the time. Only when they have the family crime syndicate money thru the window. Pull the betting logs you will see the odd win bets via twinspires. While you are at it pull the logs on the first None Better A race few years back. Lay that drive video on top if this drive and you see the barn bets. Lastly don't miss the injections and pre race. Multiple drugs up to the min line for a positive. Poppa B is not sitting in a rocking chair. Remember he did that for 10 years when he was banned from the sport.

Sears owns 25% of Nicholas Beach, go look at the ownership history. If he wanted to drive he would drive. Brian took his name off same time they took Rene name off. Rene % goes under Lengacher and Brian’s % goes under Jen stable. Just like When Dovescry, all owners including Rene just use Lengacher now. Will not be long before this all comes to an end.

USTA Rules mean absolutely nothing. Not a single commission, nor racetrack, follows them. They make their own set of rules. Joe did nothing wrong. He drove the horse to the best of his ability. The horse wasn’t swerving all over the racetrack causing danger to other drivers or horses. He was in a straight line coming off the last turn, took a bad step and fell down. Accidents happen in horse racing, as they happen driving cars. I can tell every single one of you, that Joe is eating this up. Absolutely, loving the fact that y’all can’t get over it.

tmbz1 Very true. Whoever did pre race warm-ups should have noticed it. And maybe they did, but the connections sent him to the track anyway. I can verify from first hand knowledge that Joe's antics and carelessness are wearing thin with a lot of drivers. You can cowboy all you want off the track. But when you're on the track you have an obligation to the other horses and drivers safety too.
Someone can watch a million races but until they sit behind one in an actual race they have no idea what its like out there.

You are clearly not a sophisticated horseman. The horse was not wearing an overcheck (or maybe a low hanging one which is dangerous). The only way to control the horse and hold it up was by the bit in its mouth. The horse was completely done and was in the process of backing through the field. As a few people in this thread noted, the horse was coming off a break and didn’t look clean gaited from the beginning of the race. The demonstrative actions of throwing reins at the horse removed the one bit of caution left, controlling the bit in his mouth, and in the least, severely contributed (more likely caused) to the cause of the accident. Joe’s actions were extremely dangerous. Many drivers, trainers and owners complained and have been complaining about his antics. If it was an accident in experts’ minds, why then is he getting a stiff suspension and fine? Yes, “accidents” happen but the word “accident” is used very loosely. When a drunk driver kills people on the road, it is referred to as a bad “accident.” When a horse has a heart attack and falls down during a race, it’s an accident but shouldn’t be confused with negligence/recklessness of a driver that causes an “accident.” Stop making an ass out of yourself. Do you work for Joe or something?

Horse was beyond exhausted. He asked him to go throughout the mile. When a horse is fried other horseman just keep them going to the line trying to get a check as the reality is the horse could not win.

While driving, Bongiorno failed to keep the lines reasonably taut during the race, displayed exaggerated movement with the whip, using more than wrist action and raising his whipping arm to a level above shoulder height and continued to use the whip to urge his horse after the horse was no longer responding. The culmination of these actions placed Bongiorno in a position of being unable to respond when PAT STANLEY N stumbled and fell, unseating Bongirono and 2 other drivers. A total of 3 horses, including PAT STANLEY N, did not finish the race. Bongiorno`s actions are in violation of N.J.A.C. 13.71-20.15 and N.J.A.C. 13-71- 7.9(a)13. As a result, Bongiorno is hereby suspended from driving for 20 days and fined the sum of $5,000.00. Said suspension shall begin on June 25, 2021 and continue through July 14, 2021, inclus

BRUTAL USE OF WHIP
Per an administrative hearing on June 11, 2021, the Board of Judges find that: Joseph Bongiorno was the driver of the horse PAT STANLEY N in the 7th race on May 29, 2021. While driving, Bongiorno failed to keep the lines reasonably taut during the race, displayed exaggerated movement with the whip, using more than wrist action and raising his whipping arm to a level above shoulder height and continued to use the whip to urge his horse after the horse was no longer responding. The culmination of these actions placed Bongiorno in a position of being unable to respond when PAT STANLEY N stumbled and fell, unseating Bongirono and 2 other drivers. A total of 3 horses, including PAT STANLEY N, did not finish the race. Bongiorno`s actions are in violation of N.J.A.C. 13.71-20.15 and N.J.A.C. 13-71- 7.9(a)13. As a result, Bongiorno is hereby suspended from driving for 20 days and fined the sum of $5,000.00. Said suspension shall begin on June 25, 2021 and continue through July 14, 2021, inclus

Joe will appeal until December when his sister runs off to be a whore in Florida sucking off every guy 55 older and Chester and Yonkers both close. He will start December 12 and end on December 31. Chester and Yonkers closed. December 24 and December 25 Meadowlands closed as well for Christmas. He will only miss 3 racing nights December 17,18,31. The Meadowlands, Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs are excluding Joe Bongiorno from driving in races at any of those three tracks beginning Friday (June 25).
This action is being taken due to track management’s observation of Bongiorno’s driving over a lengthy period of time. Most recently, in the seventh race on Saturday, May 29, Bongiorno was driving the horse Pat Stanley N, who fell while in contention in the very late stages of the race and resulted in a three-horse accident where one of the horses suffered a catastrophic injury. Fortunately, the other two horses and all three drivers were able to walk away with minor injuries.
Careful study of the accident from a number of angles supports the opinion that Bongiorno has the style of driving the horse with very loose lines, and the belief that he was not in a position to react quickly enough to support the horse when he began to fall.
"Our concern for the safety of our drivers, including Joe, and horses is paramount," said Meadowlands CEO Jeff Gural. "It is our hope that Joe will learn from this near tragedy as he is a terrific up and coming young driver who should have a good future."
This exclusion will end on Wednesday, July 14, and he can be listed as the driver for the draw for races scheduled for July 16 and 17.

I have yet to comment on this situation publicly. End of the day, this is a NJRC ruling and it should have always stayed that way. Joe has a right to an appeal, in which he was granted a stay. For a track owner, to then punish him after he decided to appeal is unacceptable. Joe is appealing the NJRC decision because each judge agreed he did not cause the accident. In regards to loose lines, I think most horses finish on them. Horses also fall - we saw this with Rock Lights falling at Yonkers and another horse falling at a fair this week. It happens. It’s tragic and no one wants to see it, but accidents do happen. This is not the first time an accident has ever happened. Joe’s style might be different than other drivers, but he is safe and has never been deemed dangerous by a track owner or judges prior to this accident and it seems they are trying to rewrite history. All I can tell everyone is I watch Joe drive and train every day, this man knows horses incredibly and is a great & safe driver.
