Mike Repole:
Today is a sad day in horse racing.
TVG/FanDuel is officially going away.
Don't underestimate what happens next.
Handle will decline.
Fewer fans will discover racing.
Fewer owners will enter the game.
More tracks will close.
This is so much more than losing a TV network.
This is accelerating the decline of an already struggling sport.
The Thoroughbreds are in way better shape than Harness racing. A billionaire and horse lover telling it like it is. The sad state of the game.
On plop we have Idiot 2 telling us the game is thriving. ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

How many times did they put a spotlight on the drugs and corruption and criminal regulatory and the almost non existent at most part time law enforcement?
Even though every f'ing day it sticks out like a gigantic sore thumb.
Silk hat on a pig.
It oinked.
You build your business on that foundation...we all make choices, this is my last year tmbz1
At least here we hash it out, all fake phony bs, and Repole is crying now, what about day one until he started, he's a self serving prick and when things don't go his way waaaaah wahhhh! ;D

Unfortunately their job is to promote the sport and get new people to join, discussing all the bad in racing won't do that, plus their bosses probably tell them to keep quiet about that. If you remember Ken Rudolph from TVG, the first time he got fired was for telling the truth about some bad things going on in racing. What he said was 100% accurate but obviously went against company policy which is unfortunate.

It's not a sport.
It's a joke.
Media's job i.e. reporters, interviewers is to report the truth, what's controversial and serious, interesting and most importantly, do interviews and tell us WHAT WE DON'T F'ING KNOW
They all became marketing shills.
Too bad, because now they are apparently dead.

Harness Racing Update has many stories from different contributors, but you never see one about all the drugs in racing, guess they're afraid to open their mouths. Instead, half the stories are about things from 40 years ago. They need to stop living in the past and have the guts to tell the truth, but they won't.

Hint...
Look at their sponsors tmbz1

TVG was better than nothing because there is so little marketing the game.
They looked the other way on so many things.
For all of the new fans they supposedly created, how many ended up turned off or busted out from the so-called "experts" trying to get viewers to pump action into the TVG betting platform with pick 4,5, and 6 tickets making it sound like it would be easy money.

Speaking of shutting down, tomorrow is the last day of racing at Aqueduct.
