Old-timers like me will remember the classic career he had.

I rode from Saratoga back to Vernon with him one night, he was so drunk we drove past the exit. He was laughing, saying he drove it a thousand times before never missing it.

He was a character. Had great knowledge of training. Was stabled in the old barns past the blacksmith shop I think back at Vernon in the 70’s.

I'm showing my age, Bye Bye Byrd. I trained a bunch of them, couple pretty good ones. They were tough to break. Clint a funny guy who liked a cocktail or two. Loved to relate some stories.
