Title: The False Sense Of Anonymous Security...
Post by: Ignorance Is Bliss on February 03, 2026, 01:58:15 PM
And yes, once the ball is rolling law enforcement can seize your devices. I find it FUCKING HILARIOUS people who talk endless shit about others CRY when they are found out. Well....it's happening fuckers. Here's just a few tid bits. Sound like any of you here? As for horseplop.com hiding offshore, not a problem.

Anonymous cyber harassment can include:

Repeated insulting, threatening, or degrading messages

Fake accounts used to stalk, bait, or provoke

Posting or spreading false statements (defamation)

Doxxing threats (sharing or threatening to share private info)

Coordinated pile-ons using burner accounts

Impersonation or fake profiles meant to damage reputation

The anonymity is often intentional—it lets the harasser escalate without immediate consequences.

Why people do this

Common motivations include:

Power & control – anonymity creates a sense of dominance

Retaliation or obsession – especially when they feel criticized or exposed

Disinhibition – people say things online they would never say face-to-face

Ideological or personal grudges – activism, politics, or personal disputes often trigger this

Fear of accountability – they know their behavior wouldn’t survive daylight

This behavior is about them, not about anything you did “wrong.”

Is it illegal?

It can be—depending on conduct and jurisdiction.

Often illegal or actionable:

Credible threats of violence

Stalking or harassment campaigns

Defamation (false statements presented as fact)

Impersonation

Doxxing or invasion of privacy

Even when individual messages seem “minor,” patterns matter legally.

What you should do (important)

1. Preserve evidence

Screenshot everything (include usernames, timestamps, URLs)

Save messages in original format if possible

Keep a simple timeline

2. Don’t engage

Responding often escalates behavior and helps them justify it

3. Report strategically

Platform reports (X, Meta, etc.)

If threats or stalking exist: local law enforcement

Civil route: an attorney can subpoena platforms to unmask anonymous users

4. Lock down your digital footprint

Tighten privacy settings

Remove easily searchable personal details

Use two-factor authentication everywhere

Can anonymous harassers be identified?

Yes—despite what they think.

Through:

IP logs and metadata

Platform account records

Subpoenas or court orders

Patterns linking anonymous and known accounts

Anonymity online is conditional, not absolute.

Emotional reality (this matters)

Being targeted anonymously:

Feels unfair and destabilizing

Creates constant vigilance

Can bleed into real-world stress

That reaction is normal. What’s happening to you is not trivial, and it’s not “just the internet.”

What you write is interesting. But I have found that the best "protection" for anyone's sanity on "Plop" is to just "scroll by" any posters you feel might be offensive. I have realized that I cannot ever change anyones political views or how they view this or that issue. So I stick to what I thought was the original intent of of this site. Horse Racing. I enjoy looking at others picks as well as posting my own. But if you find anyone who might offend to you, just put on "Ignore" or "scroll by" their posts. I will admit i've lost interest in the personal attacks between folks. But there seems to be a long history of rancor between certain "plopsters". I don't know the history. So I don't engage. Best you don't either.

You're right with one exception. I'm actually out here as me. These people have gone so far as to contact family members, one fat scumbag who I will leave nameless friend requested my daughter a few years ago. It used to actually bother me, now it's just reminds me how desperate they are to stop me. Four years now they've tried? How's that worked out for them. Not a one has ever approached me directly either.

Speak for yourself.

It's a social club Dougie.

It's not for everyone all the time.

And everyone here is not for everyone if they're sensitive.

The day it changes it's not PLOP.

Leave the rest to ADMIN, because for most all of us...membership, is revocable.

Trigger, I only speak for myself. You have your opinion on what "Horseplop" should be and that's fine. Like I said, i'm on here for the horse talk. What others do ain't my business.

I'm assuming you are the person who advocates for the well being of harness horses while they race and when they are no longer raceable. If i'm correct, I support any person, yourself included who point out the cruelty owners do. I'm sorry that folks have got personal concerning your daughter. It's a strange and cruel world out there.

But it's plop say what you want, you're here for a reason...this is as close to the track as you're gonna get when you're not there...and what most people won't say out there they say here.

Some because they're just nuts as per their content.  ngc3

Keep tuning in, maybe we'll learn something from ya too!  ;D

You have good values in conservatism, just not a conservative president to execute your will.

There is no winning ideal.

And it does not have to be a zero sum game.

It's very complex.

And few on this planet are capable of handling complexities, definitely not Trump when he is unwell living out his inferiority complex, Trump might have some better people than his first administration, but he has everyone of them chasing their tails at some point.

Larry is 1000% right you’re just looking for somebody to sue. You’re an accident waiting to happen. By the way you violated everything you put on your list at one time or another.. you were incorrect I never even bought up your name and you started harassing me calling me stupid and then beyond stupid and then ignorant.

That boys mom had to have slept with a MONKEY 🐒!

Shame to see people with signs of intelligence and objectivity, men even more so, follow such a weak, unhealthy, obese orange make up caked onto their ugly face, giant ego with even greater inferiority complex, foolish abusive son of a cunt.

Anyone at the helm of this country can do unreal stuff, it's a power button for them, nothing else.

Ya never know, maybe if his supporters are lucky, he could rape and assault their mothers, definitely their daughters (likes them teens down to pre-pub) - because they would deserve it, as he can do no wrong.

Good thing we don't have many like that at plop because I just sweep them into the garbage pail with ease, the heavy lifting they do to themselves.  ;D
