Title: The Secretariat Club, Monday, 9/22/25
Post by: Trigger on September 22, 2025, 02:02:08 AM

This year is flying by like a bat out of hell, and racing is going to kind of get dull soon, but we have the holidays to chill out and refresh.  California, Florida, Dubai...always nice weather and quality horses running somewhere on Planet Earth.

Finger Lakes I believe is going to be Fast, some light rain forecasted.  9 races starting there at 1:00 pm with 4 stakes races therein.  Harrington, for me, sure why not, it will be Fast.  It'll overlap Finger Lakes, with the latter 14 race card starting at 4:30 pm, and all Pace races there today too.

See ya then, and, Good Luck!  ;D

TRIG. You on to sumthin at HAWTHORNE yeasterday.
I gets the first. But what me don't understand is SHOW on a 4 horse field.
Then comes the 3rd race with the same trainer. They dump on show and he runs last again. Show more than place on all 3 in the money. But the really strange thin was: The EXACTA pool had $86,000 bet into it. Have not seen that much in 10 years in a race at the PALACE. The boys went and cashed on the EXACTA,to throw off the public.
And then it was the 5th or 6th same trainer. After runnin out with 2 chalks previously. The guy wins with a MONSTER price.
One wonders why anyone bets this SHIT anymore.

Excellent analysis John.  Thank you for telling us as I did not follow through with the rest of the card.  MSW (Maiden Special Weight) is my default type race when stakes races and nothing else works, small field is better than large as you can bet cold more easily, also I only try to do those MSW's on the dirt.

Now that you said this I put on my calendar the 25th, the next racing day there and I will have the entire past performance form downloaded and watch the pools, no handicapping just see what's up.  This is a first for me, but I have to try something different because the last almost 2 months was really bad.

Not 100% sure but looking at the hourly weather forecasted in Farmington, NY aka Finger Lakes' location, the rain if it is going to hit will be around 4pm and about 1/4".  Possibly the 7-9 races might be affected, just an fyi.

excellent observation John,

the trainer was Armando Hernandez-who has a career winning 25% average--both his favorites ran last in four horse fields--then he comes back with a longshot--reminds me of Liberty Bell

the first one there was around $8900 to show and the next one was $4900-so they weren't heavy bettors by any means

there was one three weeks ago with over a $100k to show in a 4 horse field and he won

Hawthorne doesn't care-they need the handle so they allow it

I cannot even recall the last time I bet a race in Illinois.. runners or harness. Sad state of affairs there. Reminds me of Ohio pre racinos.

Nice pick 3 bello at Pocono  tmbz1.  Im worried about the 3 in race 12 in your pick 4. The Burke Buter horses haven't been great today.

You are correct JT...Burke horses look like they didnt leave their stalls all week. Or more likely all the juice was used up in Delaware,

Need the 6 in race 5 at the Finger to only lose $22 instead of $90 on the early pick 5  ngc3

The 6 was very unenthusiastic lol, otherwise I'd be alive with p5s, we'd both be looking better.  Bello's alive, he knew what to do.

Yup .. I would of hit the early pick 5 and had the all button with the late pick 5 on a $1 ticket. That 6 sucked in race 5, was all over the place

I hit the late p4, p3, dd had a win ticket late I did because the 8 scratched but the none of the horizontals came in with the 135.  Winning day, not a lot, but I may not even hit Harrington.

Yeah, but no spread race 9. Took a log look at #1 but he never wins.

I liked his 1 1/8 race on 7/14.  These horses are so bad, the absolute worst that keeping form is nearly impossible and every dog sees some sunshine on its ass, talking about the 5% trainer lol.

I'm up about $55 for the day.

I dropped my out of pocket budget to $300 for the week which includes rebates and I'm going to see about that much.

Unfortunately when I risk less my brain tightens up because I can't go wild like I'd like.

Good point, and the longer the races for these cheap horses the less likely any of them close well. Frontrunner, the rail and speed and slop= a great overlay

Winning day is a good thing. tmbz1 I had the pick4 off my failed pick 5. But only did 50 cent wager.. I did the $1 on the pick 5 :P. Combining those 2 tickets together.. bet 80 won 102.. not much, but I'll take it

That last race was a mess, that's why I used the all button. The 5 and 10 the two races before were layups. Trying to hit 3 singles out of 5 probably wasn't smart on my part.. getting one through is hard enough.

When Calder was dead broke, purses dropped just before the light bulb idea to call it Gulfstream Park West, they couldn't afford lasix muchless the "good stuff".  We'd be making a killing, you guys especially if the bs would end, that and drivers at Mohawk some of these US prim-a-donas have to try  right down to the wire like their life depends on it, all of them jockeys too.  Handicapping is not easy, but we're taking more than our share of lumps.

Now it seems the stakes races they're doping too and they can't test for shit they don't know what the hell it is.  they need to draw blood and urine and reverse engineer that shit to see what is in it that is not organic, are they?

6/2/All/All
$24 bucks..
Finalizing MNF bet. Will post shortly.. it should be easy$

OK as promised the MNF play. I know wrong thread but who cares. Lamar Jackson is 24-2 vs the NFC. The game is in Baltimore which will be an extremely hostile environment. Both teams score ALOT of points. Baltimore has scored 40 and 41 this year, Detroit scored 50 last week. The over/under opened at 49.5 and has climbed to 53.5, but as we all know Vegas is pretty damn smart about these things. The play

Baltimore-240 money line
Over alternate total of 48.5 which is - 230

Good luck bello. I just hit a $26.11 pick 5,   with 2 singles at Mohawk off a $42 bet. The place is a joke. I could have bet that $42 bucks on the 5 in race 3 who I had singled and won $88 with a win bet. Fucking stupid.

I admire people and things but where I become dissimilar to most is I don't have the love to hate spectrum, I want to understand, not be a fan or enemy of...although there does come a point with ideologies that become hurtful, dangerous....or too blindly following to adorn. Unconditional love is  strong.

CK would get all the bullshit, the irony of being a gun advocate even in the face of tragedy.  Most logical people like us understand, a gun is inanimate, the person behind is likely not. Definitely about speaking your mind despite others feelings, either complimenting or obscenity.  Thoughts and Prayers was actually a right wing saying like Let's Go Brandon.

As far as JK I haven't watched tv in 20 years, just the internet and I follow no one, but in reading the news I'll click a story link, video.  You can find me at MSNBC or Breitbart.  I want to understand people.

MNF bet is looking OK I am not thrilled that Baltimore had a 1st and goal at the 3 yard line earlier in the 2nd quarter and didn't score. I am being offered a tiny profit from my sports betting app. Will I take it? Survey says nyet. Current moneyline for Baltimore is -290. I played them at -240. Current over under is 55.5 I played over 48.5 at - 230 which is now at -400. Three more td's brings in the over.

The democratic party lost their identity when they started backing bullshit to chase down a few votes and pissed just about everyone one off with a functioning brain.

Do you actually believe giving breaks to rich people, or free moolah to poor people is going to either trickle down or jumps start lives.  ngc3

This is a complex world and neither party can handle what it takes to work together, so better they start working on contingency and performance, get rid of all of them. At least this time around Trump has some brighter people than the first administration, that was sad, like football if you're onto your 7th string quarterback (cabinet head) you're losing.

Trump is an excellent salesman, it's hard not to admire his stamina, his willingness from an older billionaire perspective to enter such a despicable stage to be judged on yet he does it.  It's ego and absolution.

There need not be a zero sum game.  We as a nation should be focusing on living longer, healing quicker, valuing integrity, inspiring...every one wants that!  Where is it?  I have seen it never in my life!

I've seen it twice in my lifetime. First was during Reagan's first term. Second after 9/11 happened. My father in law was a union president for the IBEW. With your line of work I'm sure you know what that is. He was a hardcore democrat through and through. He would be rolling over in his grave if he saw what that party has become. Totally agree about getting rid of all of them. I've always said there should be term limits. No more then 10 years..5 terms for the US House and 12 years... 2 terms for US Senate.

These reality talent shows have given good insight on how we must qualify from a candidate, basically anyone to a front runner.

Powerful, wealthy, connected, leveraged in have kept that from this country forever, that can stop now.

Let everyone who feels qualified have a chance up at that microphone, you just need have the simple requirements of citizenship and age.

Fuck Soros and Musk, and their money.  This is about eliminating and choosing for the people by the people.

Don't have the same media conjuring up what the fucking issues to be discussed are going to be.

That there would be the greatest show on intellectual earth.

That there would form the possible greatest leader of our time, possibly ever.  Start with hundreds of thousands and land on one person, vetted and all to be the President of the United States.

The whole game of life has been rigged against you all.  Better you fight with each other - dems vs repubs, black vs white, rich vs poor, men vs women, bible vs personal beliefs - than chase the leaders down the street who are deserving to be 100% accountable, true as shit top repubs and dems are behind closed doors laughing at you all, acting out all the instigations of  Divide et impera aka Divide and conquer us.
