Ellie came as a publicity deal, she had no family in the industry. Married Jerry, she spoke clearly, pretty and had a personality. Remember she did not grow up with a horse racing back ground. Would rather listen to her then Wendy, the Heather's, Ottens etc.

I would guess Trish Shaut Shephard from the meadows broadcast back in the 80’s was the first i recall. Quite the looker. Still looks good.

I agree. They provide informative information which promotes the industry. I’d guess these girls wouldn’t even give a second look to most plopsters. Grow up guys. These ladies are showing up for work and doing their jobs just like most of us. And why would you want someone outside the industry interviewing horsemen and women??
