Should there be an age limit where drivers should no longer participate in pari mutual racing?
-
Not so much an age limit but maybe a physical exam should be required like on some d.o.t jobs etc...
-
No. The target audience is 70 and up anyway
-
I don’t think there should be an age limit.
I watch races from every track and while there’s some older drivers with diminished skills, I see more bad stuff happening with the bad younger drivers.
-
I think that drivers over 65 yrs should have to be able to perform a State Police sobriety test. This will not only demonstrate motor skills, a single instruction prior to starting will show cognitive functions!
-
i agree with mcr, not an age limit, but a physical exam, 100%

Look around any OTB or harness track, all you see is old men. A game run by old men, for the benefit of old men.
-
hanging around a otb and trying to control a 1,000lb animal going 30 mph may not be exactly the same thing

Here in Maine, we have a bunch of "Over 70" trainers/drivers still playing thier trade.
