Title: SPA Day XXVI, Thursday, 8/14/25
Post by: Trigger on August 14, 2025, 10:13:53 AM
September 1, a Monday, also Labor Day is closing day of the SPA, just a reminder, I hope y'all have been enjoying it :).  A 10 race card starting at 110pm with one stakes that wraps up with the finale at 619pm today.

The weather at the SPA looks very nice, mild humidity, temperatures ranging from the high 70's to mid 80's.  Very slight chance of non-impactful precipitation, likely FAST & FIRM surfaces.

Woodbine this Saturday, 8/16, has some big stakes races with their flagship race that day, The King's Plate.

For the standardbred player today - Harrah's Chester has some nice stakes today, Mohawk Sucker Track too has some great horses running there and in their stakes races.

See ya later with selections and wagers.  Good Luck!   ;D

$172.90 in wagers in for the early part of the day.  The SPA ($68.90) & Harrah's Chester ($104):

SPA

Race 1 (110pm) 1235 / leaning on 1 & 5 for value.  4 or 6 are there I need to have my head examine because I just don't see it.

Harrah's Chester

Race 1 (1225pm) 1/23

Race 5 (145pm) 1/all

The first race alone is baffling and I haven't gone further, but I'm taking a break from stakes turf.  So here is a MDN Special Weight in race 1.  4&6 the only experience for this distance and on the dirt and at the SPA and I'm tossing both because they both folded while crawling their last race there together.

Still it's Nuts!  ;D

I watched the replay of the 4 & 6's last race, the head on...the jockey falls off the 2 a few feet out of the gate and the rest of the horses are going in different directions.  Very awkward, but no major excuses for them.

Yeh, not very exciting watching Harrah's reminds me of qualifier races.

Horses with pep just lay there around and around the track.

No one drives like their life depends on it.

I don't mean a free for all, whipping and slashing, but make a fucking move you cock suckers, something beyond lethargy.

Every driver should have electrodes on their balls, on minor irritation.

After the race, when the horse is safe, raise it, and hit it for those deserving!   ;D

So the big question in race 1 at the Spa is does #6 run the #3 down, or let the #3 Lope on the easy lead.

Betting #3 . Ill know if the #6 fucks me a couple of steps out of the gate

Hey, bet the exacta, wheel in the tri, wheel in the super if it's 36.  The exacta is paying $11 for a buck right now, $16 the other way, 63.

Good luck, make it happen today!   tmbz1

4 will pays in Indiana.. 2 horses would be a winning ticket and lose a little and 2 horses would win a little.

I also played this Pick 5 starting in race 4
5/1,5,6,13/2,3,6/2,4,5,7/1,2,3,4
$96 bucks
Total investment there $192

Spa Pick 5 ticket starting in race 3 still cooking. The 5 is scratched in race 6 so I have the 2 and whoever the post time favorite is.. in the meantime
Spa Pick 5 starting in race 6
ALL/5/10/ALL/3,4,5,8,9,12,13
$56 beans
Total investment there is $176

That is some fucked up shit at Saratoga.. I only got back $121 because they paid the last 2 legs as all/all. I had both legs pre scratches. My same ticket as a pick 4 would have cost $30 and paid $300. Instead I made one dollar like the Duke brothers in trading places. LAME!!  11.wp

They made the 5th and 6th races an ALL because they were both taken off the turf after the Pick 5 had already started and did make an announcement about it during the weather delay.

Be proud of yourself.

It's amazing, bro, so many singles, your picks are gold and an occasional brick, trying to string together 5 races, many with horses on the claiming block that have issues, crazy weather changes you adjust to.

I'm not blowing smoke or making excuses, you're in it for that windfall cash, this type wager obviously is the vehicle, you position yourself and your misses not off the bullseye by much in most all cases is extraordinary.

Back to the drawing board, post autopsy!   tmbz1

Bitter Truth was a pleasure when it came to a lot of topics, history, his memory, fuck, the internet has nothing on him a number of times.  He'd wipe the floor with me on harness nostalgia trivia.

He backed the wrong and insane donkey that time and was embarrassed. I fooled ya is fun for a second, but we're trying to focus on this here.

Dougie and I were being playful one night so in the Sound Off! I said how about if I'm you for a week - he was like you can't, I'm too handsome - 2 secs later I was Douggie, then rainman3, he got it.  Me being him with my mouth, he'd have quite a time going forward.  All in jest to prove a point.

No hard feelings, we move on, with the exception of a handful of psychos!   ngc3

At least Henry had the balls to try, too late, how they let this horse Beau, get away with a 58 half, the gate opens up same ol' bs, throw in the towel, let the absolute wrong horse go out and take full control with no challenge then what, too late.

For trying I'll throw another c note on Trevor on race 10 in the blind:

The only one looking dumber than me in Mohawk 10th was JJ getting off the #8 to go with the #10, gets off a 20%+ winning trainer to go with a 10%, nice, at least he got fifth.

(Last week -$3506)

This week:
- $340 Monday
Tuesday Off
- $105.55 Wednesday
- $468.03 Thursday
_____________
-$913.58

Tomorrow, I ain't scared, mad at myself, but something needs to be figured out here!   ;D
