Just curious ..how is this horse in this race? Seriously
-
Winners of 2 but not more than 5 PM (NY owned or sired 6) PM Races or $40,000 Lifetime
Almost got beat and he didn't look good in winning.
-
The connections found a paid qualifier.
-
they were just keeping him tight for next Sat at M1 if he is in
he wasn't trying, wasn't asked, and I agree didn't look good
-
He fits the conditions he didnt have more than 6 wins
-
He should have lost. Whelan did everything he could on the 5 to not beat him. Watch the replay.
-
I watched the replay again and Deadbeat you are right. Little effort by Whelan in the stretch other than a spin of the whip in the air near the finish line. The two drivers were talking all the way back to the winners circle. Not a good look!
-
Grand Circuit to non-winners 6 is a big drop. Bettor(s) still got a nice double out of it.
-
Did they race him on an empty tank today? He wins the Meadowlands Pace and almost gets beat in this class. WTF?
-
these tracks might want to add some conditions on the nw races to avoid this
for example ineligible winners of over $200k
race was unbetable

Absolutely 100% agree! I couldn't believe when I saw him in this race. IMO he should not have been based on earnings alone! What a joke
I didn't bet the race. He almost lost. Should have lost. Fixed race
-
Trainer did lose with a 45 cent horse a couple races later to a 20-1 horse. Must have run out of vitamins??

the race was fixed so a $2.10 horse would win?
-
There should have been a purse cap
-
Watched replay, had to chase him to a struggling 1:52 win after pacing in 47.4 2 weeks ago ?.??
-
Should have been barred from wagering. I drove one at a fair once that was barred and I damn near got him beat by trying to save him for the next race. I was coasting in the stretch and I kind of misjudged how fast one was coming on the outside.
-
When you rob a bank, then two weeks later come back to steal a pen.

Horse is pissed Boyd keeps calling him a "motherfucker" 😂

EPO wore off, can’t light them up every race
-
That may have been the dumbest move I have ever seen, dropping that Horse in in a cheap over night. So many things can go sideways in a race. The only thing you can do is cheapen his value. Taking home a few grand and pacing in 52 does nothing for him or the owners.
-
Their #1 priority is racing him in the big races. But I dont see anything wrong in picking up wins in the conditions he still fits. Nothing wrong with making $5500/wk with an easier trip...

You have quite an imagination

Makes some of his other performances very questionable when you almost, and should’ve, gotten beat in a nw after the resume he has made for himself.

You probably think Gillis was clean

Not familiar with Gillis. Just Dobie Gillis ngc3 ngc3

Second time Madden Oaks has raced that condition after/between Grand Circuit races. There is a class drop exclusion….but only for horses not stabled at the track.

My point is , if you just won a Grade 1 stake, elevating your value by accomplishment many times, why would you risk all you have accomplished for little if any upside. What does wining an overnight at Tioga do for you? Nothing. What would getting beat in an Tioga overnight do for you? Expose the horse as ordinary.

possibly just keeping him tight for this Sarturday's Cane Pace?
why not get paid a few thousand as opposed to having a qualifier?
-
I agree with that strategy instead of a qualifier, but the horse looked very average. Like they wanted to see what he could do on an empty tank and he should’ve gotten beat. A Meadowlands pace winner should win that class by open lengths in a hand drive

agree
maybe they tried less/no gas for this race

If the horse wins (and he did) people aren’t happy because he won and he got the conditions. Now he wins by a head and the critics are out. And if he gets beat, the critics hav Ed even more to complain about. A no win situation whatever the outcome is!!

Maybe….but some love finishing second in that class. As for bettors….the double was plenty good considering his odds starting it off. So, a few may consider it a WIN situation.
