Not sure if it will make a difference, but I see Rick Wink will be first time Lasix.

Prince Hal probably the best horse in the race.  Can he overcome post 8 and the 5-headed Burke monster?

Can we get 10-1 on him?

No shot.  I’m think if he had a good post he’d be 5-2 morning line and go off slightly less.  You may get 5-1, but I don’t think much more.

They're up, he's 3-1 ml, but 5-1 or so is a possibility.

He doesn't have that name recognition flair, besides getting dqd to second out of a the BigM Pace.  I'm thinking he'll get overlooked.

I could be way off though.  Twisted Destiny may be 4/5 at post time.  I guess 8-10/1 on PH could be realistic.

If burke can't win this race he should just hang it up. This mfer has half the field. If the drivers are team players. He will win. I think they set it up for swingtown. There will be some sacrificial lambs in the race.

While Burke is trainer on the five horses in the race, and part owner of the same, they do not all have the same mutual partnerships, some do some don't.

The weather is foretasted rain, Twisted Destiny is 1/1 on a wet track.

Getting Dq'd from the BigM Pace, now this is the first stakes final behind that for #8 Prince Hal Hanover.  Todd McCarthy has to be livid, horse has speed too, and looked loaded with pace with the #3 after there race.

I wouldn't underestimate horses that have run multiple consecutive sub 150 miles, honestly I think Burke thinks his best chance is #2 Wink, ran 3rd with the 3 & 8 here and adds Lasix.

I don't think Burke is 1st or 2nd, Burke doesn't finish better than 3rd it's good for him politically within the sport that he is vulnerable and we all know better but it is the perfect storm for just that.

IMO the favorite is legitimate.
If you want to take a shot against, the only Burke option to me is Rick wink. Prince hal is not for me. GL

With the weather up in the air...

If they raced on a fast Meadows track, maybe not likely I see a One Horse race for 3/4's at least, Prince Hal Hanover 26 54 120 3/5 and him and Twisted Destiny race to the wire in a 147 and change toss up.

This is typical summer thunderstorms. It might not rain in any specific location. Even if it does, the track will dry out quickly in the summer heat.

When Bythemissal was three, he was the third choice.  He raced mostly in Ohio just like some of the Burke horses this year.  He beath the tow favorites.

On paper, Burke should not get better than third but Prince Hal Hanover may not be able to overcome that post.  Gingras is driving the 9 so Burke must think that is his best horse.

If they make it hard for him, or Todd hits the gas too hard expect Prince Hal Hanover to do 25 and change 52/53 and change, but he can do a 147 Meadows mile and why shouldn't he against these other clowns in that race that do 150's.  Sheesh the horse has a 148 last week with plenty left in the tank and is a leaver.  ;D

The outside post has been the undoing of many good horses at The Meadows. Well Said was a big favorite and lost because of the post position. If he does a first quarter of 25 and change, he will not be around at the end.

If I bet I want to win it, I'd wish the same for you.  That's the point we're coming too as we're divergent on the issue which is ok.  Good luck with the Adios!

The Meadows races today and the ADIOS...I spoke to security there and it hasn't rained in the last 12 hours, however it also now appears that the humidity has dropped and the storms might not hit The Meadows:

The security lady sounded hot, boy I wish I was on site there.  Nothing like removing that polyester uniform and hardware, and enjoying a beautiful leo - they deserve love too!   ;D

Adios,

Trigger

I have watched so many races on a 5/8. Outside posts are a killer. If the 8 gets roughed up in the first quarter, he will not win. Once the post position is factored in, the 5 should win. If they go very fast, one of the Burke horses has an advantage. Swingtown RONNIE WRENN JR blk-mar (St 1389 W 26% P 19% S 13% UDR .409)!

I posted on the t-bred thread but here is my pick.. Rick Wink in a mild upset, coming from behind off a fast half and 1st time Lasix. I've been on this horse since half way through his 2 year old year and watching him in person win for fun at Delaware in 150.2 last year. He has just as much talent as any of the other Burke horses. Box the 2-3-4-8. On a side note there is a sires stakes for 3 year old pacers at Scioto tonight and it only has 1 division and is going for $100,000. Wide open because the good Burke horses are at the Adios. A few of these might meet up next week at Scioto for the state fair steaks

Mike: You always say:"If you don't like the M[1] don't bet 'em." Well look around.
There are more top International drivers and trainers than not. At least too many
to name. So perhaps take your own advice and learn to like it or find another sport.
Damn good race. tmbz1

Yeah, it usually is. I think there is only one all USA horse and that is the one trained by Chris Beaver and driven by Aaron Merriman.

I root for the USA. I'm not sure what your point is. The top 10 drivers in wins in 2025 are all AMERICAN and 9 out of top 10 trainers in wins in 2025 are all American. I don't need to find another sport.

I might have oversold it BUT you just said yourself that there's only one US based
horse in the biggest race in North America. If you would list your top ten big $$ drivers
how many would be US guys? BIG $$ trainers? My point is, it's clearly a mixed bag and
I appreciate you rooting for US connections but you won't see a big race run without
plenty of International participants. Just took offense when you said "YAWN' to such a
good Adios just because McCarthy and Moore won.

As far as money is concerned, 8 out of 10 leading money drivers in 2025 are American and 8 out of 10 leading money trainers in 2025 are American. I will continue to root for the USA. Good Luck.

Lexington, Grand Circuit types. The ratio is by 'NO MEANS' 9 out of 10 then.  tmbz1
