Im at Scioto tonight and Rick Wink just won for fun in 149..1/5th off the track record against older horses. Very impressive. I've said before that he is every bit as talented as the other Burke 3 year olds, Swingtown, Sippinonsearoc and even Louprint. I know I'll get grief for that last horse I mentioned, but 11 out of 12 wins is not easy against good competition. I wish he was staked to more big races.

Fun races to watch Mike but usually pretty tough to Handicap. First time coming here this year. The new grandstand is really nice. Live music on the patio as well. Nice way to enjoy a summer night

How did you know I was Mike Tomar? Hope you enjoy your evening!

The money is good on the Dayton/ Miami/ Sciots circuit but you earn it. They talk about M[1]
being the Mecca. Not seeing it. These tracks fill 13-16 races yr. round. VERY few fields less than
even 8. FIVE days a week. Not 2 days with one of those laughable. Maybe not the BIG name drivers
but come and get some. Kinda funny how the pools are always criticized [rightfully so] BUT as
has been commented on, with the highly contested races and large fields, they pay decent SOMETIMES.
Grew up at Scioto. Saw a lot of greats. They do need to measure and re-calibrate the times.

I grew up at scioto, my son played with the (kyle) Ater kids on the patio grass. Dated Amy Ater

Times are definitely a hair off..every 1st quarter is in 25 or 26.. but we've had a lot of rain and it's pretty warm and humid so fast times are to be expected. I grew up here to Bitter. I know we've crossed paths many times. Watching Artsplace and Life Sign here are probably my 2 highlights

R6 2-5-8 Tri Box $4
Well done..... tmbz1

Was kinda too young to get the joke but my Uncle, who introduced me to Harnees, used to call
Dan Ater : 'The sex maniac' He liked the Ater [ate her] twist of words. Simpler time. Kinda funny.

Unfortunately they only race 4 months at each track. And the slots run year round. Unlike the M1 that relies on handle to survive. Don’t compare apples to oranges

What about the 12 million from The State of New Jersey? And now the money Freehold was getting....

Pass on 7th

That is true but except Hambletonian and Meadowlands Pace day the racing sucks there. If I wanted to see 5 amateur races a night, I'd rather go to a county fair in Ohio

Don't have to convince me. It's a damn shame. Never going to see what used to be again.
-

Hmm. 12 million a year to race year round vs 100 million a year.
To race 4 months. I wonder who has the best deal

Did you know....there was a time when The Meadowlands generated enough money to back the construction of the original Giants Stadium? When Harness Racing mattered and people planned going multiple nights a week because it was an event every race night. Now, it's over. They only race twice a week, how many race dates each year? And why does it have to be handouts? You are correct saying The Meadowlands relies on handle as a big part of their purse account, THE WAY IT USED TO BE AT EVERY TRACK. That's the idea of a business, offer the public something they're willing to pay for. Now it's someone else has to support it. Maybe clean up the game and do something that might entice people to want to come back. I know that sounds crazy, right?

I haven't looked at a scioto program in a while. When did they start putting the detention barn info in the program? Lots of Carter and Perrin horses in detention barn. Is this something new?
-
Yes I know and Blockbuster was a huge company back then. Fortunately the race horse industry puts a shit ton of money back in the states coffers

For whatever reason you want to point to, however the purse $$ is generated, bottom line it's a better
product, especially when the amount of races actually being raced are factored in and OBVIOUSLY the purses.
Shame it doesn't get the pari-mutual support it merits.

Absolutely. It merits support in our eyes, not this new public under 40 crowd playing Fortnite all weekend. I thought why not host that stupid shit at the tracks. Whatever it takes to get these people in the building who don't even know the sport exists.

Yea the general public would rather see condos and big box stores on the green space. That is why they keep voting for politicians that support horse racing

Yeah cause things like healthcare, economy, jobs, homes, education....mean nothing. You really think anyone outside the industry give a shit about harness racing???? Ask the people who raced at Pompano, Northville, Scarborough, Freehold, shall I go on? The industry is shrinking each day. You need to wake the F up dude. New Jersey is hanging by a fucking thread. Yonkers a month to month contract until the casino decisions are released. Are you for real???

Hey bustout, what I do for a living is above your pay grade, OK!
after viewing your results, you need to contact Dan Nance and start your own club on how to pick 1/2 the horses in a race and still, lose money when you win!
You might hit a few (When you pick half the field you got to) but you're a loser in the long run almost every night. Being above my pay grade is nothing to brag about sport! tmbz1
-
Sorry about your luck Kirby. Absolutely FALSE. Thru race 10 using a one dollar bet
unless otherwise noted , Crazy Jerry is up $369 I say well done.

I still remember nights in the original M1 huge grandstand some nights you would have trouble finding a seat on any level any area and that was an absolutely giant place. betting lines 15 or so long and maybe 10 tellers in each section.

It's extremely sad to see what the Sport used to be, and what it has become now.
The Industry refuses to rid itself of the drugging and cheating, with many of the Board Members et al, being in bed with the scumbags.
Many honest people have already left the Industry because they couldn't compete with the drugs and are honest, and wouldnt join the scum.

Sure Andrew, I didn't root down his wagers. You're seeing things again. I believe when he hit the triple I said "well done". Thus making YOU the CUNT....again. Keep it up and I'll put you on that list with Gaagoots, Pacer 2 and Zoomer.... if you know what I mean. tmbz1

There are more conspiracy theories and paranoia here than an asylum full of mentally ill CIA spooks at all the asylums combined.
Just an observation, not a complaint.
At least we're the best at something! ngc3
