Lots of races, early start time, let’s get the prognosticators opinions!
Race#1-#4 VILLEFRANCHE AS 5-1 ML Does her best racing when driven aggressively. Bad field even for bottom condition trotters. Has to go off ML assessment to bet with very low below the Mendoza line performers in driver/trainer Hudon/Goddard.
Race#4-#9 MOMENTARY CONTROL 5-1 ML Has burned boatloads of cash first two off the bench. Needs some fractions up front, will be raced from behind tonight & odds will balloon off last two non-efforts.
Race#13-#3 THE LONGEST YARD 5-1 ML Has one big brush and with all the gate speed to the far outside, this could set up well for him tonight. If Jamieson can find a helmet to follow, can fly by in the stretch.
Best of luck! tmbz1

race 12--#3 Shreddar--not much of a price but in raging form, should continue dominating
race 14--#4 Sometime Somewhere--reunited with JMac--can beat these easily at a fair price
good luck to all on a very long evening tmbz1

Shreddar probably be 2-5, interesting to see how he does for new connections. Wonder how much the purchase price was, low 6 digits?

GOOD RACE CARD

I'd love to know what he went for. I wouldn't pay near 6 figs. Wayyy too many red flags. I was all over him last time but barn changes can be tricky. I hope he behaves himself and stays healthy. Fun horse to watch and bet when right.

Good card yes, though not as good as Miami's Thursday. Just saying and I religiously follow Mohawk.
Tough card too though. Having said that, here's three picks:
Race 3 # 1 Epic Dreamer Things to like and dislike. Kind of a squirrely horse to begin with and then
throw in the rail. But I see him as clearly fastest and you get Jmac. If flat, should win.
Race 7 #3 Head Honcho Lookin to beat Sweet Diesel who will be heavy fave. Should sit pocket or
close to it. If fave falters, I like his chances.
Race 11 #1 Vis A Vis Bluechip. I know Paul Davies 'AND' rail but nice horse. Had the time to beat these
as a 2 yr old. Take my chances , he doesn't get caught or gets out when needed. Will sit close.
Nice to be back with Mohawk. Good luck guys! tmbz1

Thanks !!! So close to 60k Canadian…. Figured they’d get more for him….
-
goes off at 1/2 nd backs through the field
ouch, carman has some work to do
-
hate to see the accident in race 11
especially given it appeared to be no reason for it
fillion had lots or room and was crowding and running on top of the horse in front and steps on his wheel

Race 11 – Inquiry/Accident – #1 Vis A Vis Bluechip (Paul Davies) drifts out in the stretch
and touches the front leg of #6 Brigus (Sylvain Filion), which causes that horse to fall. #4
Holy Jalapeno (Phil Hudon) is behind #6 and falls. #1 finished 4th placed 7th and was
disqualified for causing interference. #3 Purely Wicked (Jonathan Drury) was charted with
an interference break and #7 Ballykeep Painter (Bob McClure) was charted with
interference. Filion was checked by EMS and cleared to drive. Hudon was transported by
ambulance to a local hospital. Judges will follow up with Davies. Dr. Ballinger treated both
horses for abrasions.

Davies has never displayed even a hint of competence. There is nothing in his background to suggest that he should be a driver.
-
valid points
as i said whatever the cause that situation in no way should have lead to an accident
horses not jammed up, no horse broke or took a bad step
just driver error
-
Davies' inlaws own Desperate Man. He was moving over to let "Uncle Trevor" up the rail.
-
I guess it's not like Ohio. You would think these Canucks would throw down their whips pull off their helmets and start thunkin each other in the head. Just like in hockey they would have to sit out a race and cool down.

Trot Insider has learned that driver Phil Hudon will be out of action as he recovers from injuries sustained in a racing accident on Saturday, March 30 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Hudon, a career winner of 4,746 races, told Trot Insider on Sunday afternoon after being assessed by doctors that he sustained fractures to his T2 vertebra in his thoracic spine and coccyx (tailbone).
The 49-year-old reinsman, who was driving Holy Jalapeno, was unable to avoid colliding with a fallen horse during the stretch drive in Saturday night's 11th race and was unseated during the accident.
The accident occurred when Vis A Vis Bluechip and Paul Davies drifted out in the stretch and made contact with Brigus. The latter horse fell and his reinsman, Sylvain Filion, was also unseated.
Filion was assessed by on-track EMS and cleared to return to action in the remaining races on the Saturday card. Filion confirmed with Trot Insider on Sunday that, aside from being a little sore, he is doing well and will be driving on Monday night.
Both horses were reported by Woodbine to be ok following the accident.
Please join Standardbred Canada in wishing Phil Hudon a full and speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear Hudon got hurt. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
