Please post the article. I call wishful thinking on your part. Haven’t read a positive or useful word from you— ever. Just hate spewing BS.
Why are you on this forum?

I seriously doubt Gov. Hochul has ever said the words harness racing.

Does NY usually post the meeting transcripts and or video. The vetoed proposal (if I understand ????) was for dual eligibility. Not sure if the industry explained the benefits of that vs the other jurisdictions.

I really don’t want to rely on one individual’s impression of what took place.

we all know it's only a matter of time till they take away the $$$ and one year they will

the tracks and horsemen organizations have had many chances to create a long-term revenue stream but keep rewarding claimers

when it ends, we'll have pre-slots purses all over again

I’m not saying it’s impossible to end the subsidies, it will be difficult. Look how Gural bought NJ Governor Murphy. Believe me NY legislators and Governor can be bought to

I sat there between the commissioner of NY Gaming and Steve Jones while after they announced the Governor said take your new residency bill and shove it up your ass NO MORE BREAKS watched them struggle for an answer as to what needs to be done. The new director stated the business is shrinking, less babies, other markets taking it from NY, no new owners or interest. I wonder WHY! Hopefully the livestream will be posted to YouTube so you can all watch my ugly mug sitting there smug taking notes sitting next to Ray Schnittker and Mike Kimelman and just across from Mark Ford. Funny thing, none of them dared approach me except for Mike and I who did have a decent chat and a few laughs. So yes, myself, my friends from the UK, and my friends from NYCLASS were all able to reach the Governor and Attorney General who are now actually actively involved in investigating ONLY harness racing and not the flats. There IS a live bill on the floor to end VLTs. And yes the Governor did in fact ask for an outside audit of the NY Ag and Breeders fund, plus 10 year projection as to its viability before she even revisits this bill. I cannot wait until the revised VLT bill hits her desk.

This bill to end VLT welfare has been revised since and includes even more damning evidence. "You are all very welcome".  ngc3

I don’t think they will slam the door but just whittle away for a few years on the % until the purses are so low its impossible to own a horse.

Government has always been for sale. But the players and the power are of a different culture now. The 2 men who were able to get things done for the horse racing industry have moved on. I just don't feel confident the current power base is willing to trade some of their juice for harness racing.
If there were changes to the VLT splits, I am sure it will come in time. Not all at once and leave people with mares in foal and yearlings, purchased under an expectation of 2 and 3 year old NY Sire Stakes promises.
It is the overnights that are most vulnerable.

NYSS finals this year went for $200,000, far less than KY and Ohio

inflation has been pecking away at the NY program which for many years was one of the best if not THE BEST to an also ran now, KY now double NY

the 3 downstate casino licenses will be coming on-line soon and up for bid shortly and with local sports wagering and table games the take for VLT revenues will certainly decrease

Yonkers needs that infield for a hotel at some point

more politicos like AOC want all the $$$

sooner or later we're at pre-slots purses for overnights in NY

We will start seeing more mares that are bred to Chapter 7, American Ideal and Huntsville shipped to Ky to foal. Both Chapter 7 and American Ideal are getting old. They won’t be replaced by anything of their caliber.  They will be replaced by less fashionable sires and the program will slide into obscurity
From OTB to partnering with casinos NY has shown everyone how not to run a program.

we don't know what they will be replaced with and C7 isn't that old yet

nobody knew what C7 was and second year his shares for 2 breedings sold at $30,000

new stallions will come to NY and breed full books and if they throw world champions, they will continue to stand in NY as the breeders who control the stallion won't consent to any moves

Bingo!  SCM is a fucking idiot.  Maybe he can support them all when racing ends.  Odd how he cares, but wants the horses to be out of work.  Can't have it both ways.  He's a fucking idiot!

You are right !!!  Surprised the breeders are not pushing for shipping semen.  Maybe they are ??   Ky eligible NY bred yearlings (Chapter 7, Huntsville and American Ideal) sold for a premium over the just NY eligible last fall.  Most of the 1/2 mile tracks are bull rings with bad surfaces.

Now this is fucking awesome, my point proven. You fucking losers living off a dead industry who call me shopping cart Mike "begging for handouts" and saying I am giddy watching the death of a dead industry are literally CRYING FOR MORE HANDOUTS FROM NYS TO SURVIVE. Bahahahhahahahaha hahahahahahahahah ahahahaahhahahaha haahahahahahahaha aaaaaaaa.
Maybe...take the scumbags out of power who are draining YOUR MONEY YOU STUPID FUCKS and sending horses out of state while SITTING ON THE BOARD AS A TRUSTEE in direct conflict with what and who they represent YOU STOOOOOOOOOPID MOTHERFUCKERS to the point that the Governor, state officials and public have had enough of supporting your sorry fucking asses. Where were you Friday? Why wasn't anyone there repping the "good horsemen" as you call them to respond with THESE PEOPLE IN THAT ROOM do NOT rep US! They rep their wallets, not the horsemen. So go ahead and point your fingers at me jackasses, I watched as your futures were pushed one step closer to getting real jobs. Not sitting on buckets talking bullshit while the states support you. Jerkoffs. So what do you do, sit here anonymous trash talking instead of approaching your leaders because you are absolute without a doubt chicken shit cowards who will be smacked like the insects you are.  My God this is too fucking easy you uneducated rejects. ngc3

I own just a few horses and if it folded tomorrow I’d just walk away. You say to approach our (not mine) leaders???   Look who “our leaders” are !!!  Enough said…
