BEFORE HE BUYS A HORSE..

WHAT ADVICE SHOULD I GIVE HIM..
1.  Tell him not to hire a trainer who says your horse is going to the Breeders Crown next out win or lose when he hasn't beaten shit yet in his career.

2.  Tell him not to ask advice from nitwits who use trainers who do that.

Hope this helps. tmbz1

Get the cost of Monthly Bills for each horse (Include everything). (Vet work varies)

Monthly costs are the same for 4000 claimers or 40,000 claimers.

Look over Stable area. Good trainers keep Good Barns.

Until decoupling happens...at least a chance to make money. After that forget it.
I agree.

Once they decouple, I am out.

Speak with previous (not current) owners and do not ask the trainer you are considering for a list of references. It's very easy nowadays to locate a list of the trainer's previous owners online.

Good luck - there are very few trustworthy trainers in our industry, however, they do exist.
