Yes, I knew Danny. Saw him a couple of days before he died and attended his funeral.

A lot of great promoters have been mentioned but the best trainers I have ever seen were not high profile guys!

Sam,
Did you know Barry Franklin ? He may not have been the greatest conditioner of horses but he was one of the best gamblers in the 70's at Monticello and Yonkers\Roosevelt in early 80's..he's still a successful owner ..40 plus years in this business and still kicking.

Not personally. He used to have Forte and Joe Ricco until they were barred from being in triple races. Later he used Marohn, Dokey and Sonny Patterson to do business.

You had to be at Yonkers and Roosevelt at the same time as me. I used Poppy, Cobb, and Al Winger for the price. I also wrote a book about the Moonstone Bay race and Charlie DeMore, however, it and the rights were bought out never to be published. I'm sure you remember Harvey Weiser, the Cantors, Royal Count N, and Allan and Michael.

Remember all of them. Weiser was a teller at NYC OTB till it closed. I don't remember the details of the Moonstone Bay race?
