Cheap claim by Burke at Buffalo....but why?
« on: March 21, 2023, 11:49:27 PM »
Burke claimed the #8 horse last week at Buffalo for some reason. Why add this of all horses to his stable?

The bigger issue is that he is ruining the sport.  How much does he need? Sets up stables and dominates in states that have new slots enriched programs.  Why not let the smaller outfits that were struggling for years fully reap the benefits? Sure he has lots of money but it's gotten out of hand. Multiple entries in bigger races. ( and they help each other in the race). Has many horses in so many states that he can move them around from state to state to fit cheaper conditions elsewhere. Now he's buying overnight horses on online auctions. Jacking up the prices to eliminate a possible new owner to the sport,

He and his partners may be laughing to the bank now but down the road, they will be wishing that they weren't so greedy,

That's why they have laws against monopolies in the business world. Just like in texas holdem.  If your stack is 5 times the size of all the other players then the odds are in your favor your going to take all their money eventually. Burke is going after every purse he can win large or small. He probably thinking why not if I can get away with it.

Multiple entries in bigger races. ( and they help each other in the race).
This is exactly why Yonkers prohibits multiple entries in each of the five Borgata (Levy) $50,000 prelims.   Burke's Clear Vision riding shotgun for Foiled Again was an oft repeated tactic.

I seen it happen more than once in stk races last year where one burke driver opens a hole where there wasn't one for the other burke horse in the race.

Perhaps this 12 year old will be used in amateur races?

Or perhaps he bought her for a Broodmare?  I am guessing that is why he claimed her.  No other intent!
