Title: Takter, Ake….
Post by: Here they come on July 29, 2021, 10:14:26 AM
I watch these guys when the have 2 in a race and their driving one of them.
On numerous occasions, they will use the one their driving to block the flow to help the other one they train win the race. Ake did it earlier this year at Yonkers. Why do they let trainers with 2 or more entries in a race allowed to drive???  Hambo elims have Ake driving again with yannick on the other. This shouldn’t be allowed.

Burke for years has had more than one horse in big races. Especially the aged pacing events. He's a smart guy. If they allow it, he's going to take advantage of it. AND HE DOES, As anyone else would. It's a numbers game with Burke and he has the numbers to have multiple entries.

Don't hate the game.  Contraction casualty?  Aint no owners cryin are they? Smart bettors deal with this issue daily. Many with their feet, agreed.

Thoroughbreds have been doing it for 100 years or more. In a big stake race, the trainer will say, ""We entered him as our rabbit. He will set the pace needed for our big horse to close." 100% allowed by racing commissions.

Good horses overcome entries, bettors included.

There is a difference between rabbit tactics and using your uncoupled horse to intentionally block the progress of your rivals

Using a horse to block is not giving the uncoupled entry the best chance for placing. Rabbits are always speed horses and as such that strategy is the rabbits best chance for placing

It wasn´t fun to drive when Continental raced 3 in a race, Hakan Walner and Bernie Lindstead, made a hell of a lot of money, Jan Johnson riding shotgun, 1/2 in 1/2 out. The 3 of them made a ton. Hated Johnson till I got to know him. All 3 great horsemen. But a fucked up race it would be.
