ALL I READ FROM YOU MORONS IS HOW GREAT IT WAS "BACK IN THE DAY", SO TO SAVE THE SPORT FROM ITSELF, LETS RETURN TO ITS GLORY BACK IN THE DAY. YOU SHOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO BET ON THE TRACKS IN THE STATE YOU LIVE. IF YOU WANT TO BET ON NEW JERSEY TRACKS, GO SPEND SOME TIME THERE, OR MOVE THERE.
PERHAPS A SIMULCAST RACE PROGRAM CAN BE FORGED, BUT NONE OF THIS FULL CARD BULL SHIT. ONE OR TWO RACES FROM EACH TRACK MAXIMUM, EVERYONE SHARES IN THE PROCEEDS EQUALLY, NO ONE IS "MORE EQUAL" THAN OTHERS.
TRACKS BENEFIT FROM HAVING MORE WAGERING ON ITS OWN CARD, GET TO KEEP 100% OF THE PROCEEDS WAGERED ON ITS PROGRAM.
IF YOUR STATE HAS NO RACING, THEY OBVIOUSLY DONT WANT YOU TO BE WAGERING ON RACING. JUST THE WAY IT WAS, BACK IN THE DAY.
MAYBE OTB'S CAN BE SET UP NEAR STATE BORDERS TO ALLOW YOU TO WAGER ON THE STATE YOU JUST CROSSED INTO, BUT THEY SHOULD BE OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE CLOSEST RACETRACK AND THEY SHARE WITH OTHER TRACKS IN THE SAME STATE.
YOU ASS CLOWNS KEEP SAYING HOW GREAT IT WAS, YOU WERE, THINGS WERE, BACK IN THE DAY... SO LETS PROVE IT

Bunch of cry babies time changes thing get on board or keep crying.
-
TAKE IT A STEP FURTHER, YOU SHOULD BE A RESIDENT/CITIZEN OF THE COUNTRY YOU ARE RACING IN. NONE OF THESE MOTHER CANUCKERS CROSSING THE BORDER, STEALING OUR MONEY, YES STEALING, BECAUSE AS YOU KNOW THERE IS NO SUCH THING AN HONEST CANUCK IN THE BUNCH, THEN SENDING IT BACK TO THEIR HOMELAND.
AND TO RACE IN A STATES SIRES STAKES RACES, THE OWNERSHIP OF THE HORSE SHOULD BE 100% FROM THE STATE THE RACE IS IN
this is probably thing dumbest thing ever posted on here tmbz1
AND I POST DUMB SHIT......

Going for more dumber. You should be able to open account at any track & bet. Every track would have their own handle. Bigger handle bigger purses.

wow, so harness racing would follow nafta negotiations??
make america great again?
so american owned horses would not be able to participate in canadian stake races??
cant believe anyone thinks these ideas would help

Build a wall on the Northern Border, and make Canaduh pay for it. Oh hell yes, I am all in favor. tmbz1

The only way this idea would work is if all the gamblers still wagering on horse racing still attended the races in their home state to bet.
In other words you have to have a captive audience where there were no other options and they still wanted to bet horse racing.....like 1975!
True horse racing fans want to watch and bet the better horses wherever they are racing.
Maybe these fans would stay true to the local circuit under Oil Can's plan but they are a very small group.
The majority of gamblers would move on to casinos or other options if the only horse racing they could bet was the local menu of rat races and crackheads. angbk

Do away with lotteries and casinos. If you want to bet, go to the raceway.

I see it one step further. If you look at Yonkers, the majority of New York taxpayer funded purses, goes to out of state owners. And, increasingly ,out of the country owners.
This BS needs to be corrected.

Does keeping canucks out of the us work the same for keeping yankers out of Canada?

This is definitely a sport destined to continuously be its own worst enemy. The problem isnt the sport itself. Its the people running it poorly.

Yonkers cured part of this so-called problem. Read the condition sheet. You don't race at Yonkers 24/7, it is very difficult to actually race there. They don't want outsiders coming in taking $$$ from the regulars who race there!
Food for thought, I live in Florida and own horses. Why should I be punished and be unable to race in other states?
Read Plainridge condition sheets. Read Buffalo Raceway condition sheets.
Read Pocono condition sheets. 10 years ago, if you were not PA bred/sired/owned you couldn't get in to race there. How times have changed!
They benefit Massachusetts owners like Yonkers does!

I see your point , Rainman. The problem is racing in these states is funded by state tax dollars. It is also incorporated into a state agricultural system. Why should 30-40% of every dollar dropped in a machine at Yonkers go to someone who lives 1200 miles away?
Overnight racing gets 80% of the funding. It should not be shared with residents of other states and countries.
-
For this reason, that is why state breds trump resident ownership. Buy horses bred in the state you wish to race.

All I know is that it is easier to get in to race at Plainridge than Yonkers! Beckwith, Stalbaum, Greene, et al have a shuttle between Plainridge and Saratoga!

They do and the Bomber is probably the hardest working of them all.
