Title: Father/daughter harness wreck
Post by: Fuguzzi on June 25, 2023, 10:58:04 PM
A father and daughter driving in the same race in Australia were both injured (she seriously) when they were involved in a 3 horse wreck that started when her horse suddenly collapsed behind the gate. In 50 years , I have never heard of a father and daughter in the same race accident. Anyone have?

Does the father have a son? They sId it was a three horse wreck so I was thinking maybe the son was the other person.

A few years ago I was in a race with a teenager making his first start.
Around the last turn he is sitting in the two hole.
He runs up on the wheel of the leader (me), and makes a bad break.
He takes a sharp turn to the outside and takes the front  legs out from underneath his brother, that was making a big move on the outside.
There was no brotherly love back at the barn!

Hope your horse stayed on his feet and you went on to win....

Yes I did after the young man took out most of the field.

No,  He and his brother only raced a couple years at the fairs, while going to school, and then off to the real world. You would recognize the family name. Lets not name names

Top secret - the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

I blame part of the above mishap on what I would call The Tim Tetrick Crash Syndrome.
This happened about the time Tim was first tearing up the east coast with his hand holds in his belle button, and leaning way back.
Every new kid on the track saw that and followed suit.
In this case all two year olds making there fisrt start off the training track. Was this the time to play TT. I don't think so.

I would think the five hundred plus million that play basketball worldwide and the owners of Kobe's Gigi would have something to say about who cares .. not to mention the familys.

Joe, Pat and Phil Hudon were in a 3 horse accident a few years back at Mohawk. Joe said that wasn’t the kind of family reunion he was talking about. Lol

Timmy learned it from Tony. He didn’t start this problem the race bikes did. You ever try to sit upright in a blackjack or a Harmer bike. Need a chiropractor every day
