-
I remember when he was at Monti in the late 60s , horses just horses till Franconia. But he did have the gift of gab. Leon Greenberg loved him. RIP Condolences to family and Chris, Lisa and the rest of Gurf Trot alum.
-
Great guy,,Rip my friend
-
RIP Ron
-
His personalty allowed him to enjoy a very good life in hors racing. He was always associated with the wealthy. Good business plan in my eyes. He knew were all the good restaurants were. Enjoyed his work he did for the racing on line magazine. Peace out Ron. You were a good man.
-
RIP Ron and condolences to your family. I didn't know you but I do know of at least 2 people who are not shedding any tears. Your Canadian buddy "Dexter" and a particular trainer who just got his license back with the initials GD. Just sayin.

God shine upon you with a heavenly barn full of perfectly gaited trotters and 1:48 pacers.
-
Ron was a good guy had some bad luck later on in his racing career. Nonetheless Ron was pleasant to be around by the barn, at the sale grounds, at a bar, or anywhere else. Lot of stories and horse knowledge even if at times some say overkill. I know he has battled
some health problems past years may he RIP.
-
Well one mouth piece today was silenced now all we need is for Roger to move on.

Very well said Fatboy-very well. His comments on Integrity and penalties were laughable -considering what he was up to/and did- while training--however RIP--Im sure people will miss him -he had the gift of the gab.

The man trained great horses, ate at the best restaurants and drank the finest wine. Not a bad way to live your life. RIP Gurf

So what? Some of the biggest scumbags that ever existed-lived lives of unbelievable opulence-doesnt make you a great person or a man of the utmost integrity.
Its what you do with your life-leaving the world a better place than when you came into it-and what you did for ALL your fellow humans-BOTH rich and poor---thats what counts IMHO.
