Inside the 2yo numbers of a stable
« on: October 30, 2020, 05:59:48 PM »
Since there is a lock on the stable thread and the final numbers are rolling in just like a election year. Totals are all converted to US dollars and some yearling purchases MIA. Of 57 yearlings 14 couldn't find a purchase price but of the 43 the cost was 783,300. I didn't count L Hanover who was bought and sold after 1 qualifier for a profit. So of the 57 there were 16 that never started due to injury or didn't have the go so turned out. Six or Seven have started and found their way into a sale and a new stable. After 234 starts for 2020 two year old they had 37w 25p 31s for earnings of 471,894. The w/p/s totals did get some padding with a 5 week fair spotting finding that the nw1 was to difficult to earn a check. Of the 50 that are still with the stable now turned out 42 of them will be eligible to nw1 or nw2. Of the 57 one earner over 100k @ 117,560. 0 over 50k. 1 over 40k @43,800. 1 over 30k. 4 over 20k. 8 between 10k-19k. 22 under 10k. 20 at 0. That makes 44 making between 0-10k. 1 horse of 57 gets a free ride and one got close to even. Trying to think may be 1 sire stake and a couple buckeye wins in Ohio? One made the final. Nothing in IN, PA, NY, IL, and NJ. Some decent horses in ON. Three year old horses that held over faired even worse. Stable star Globetrotting was a disappointment as did Spirit of Deo. Nothing else came back to be better then they were at 2.

What happens at the stable if one owner buys 51% of the shares?  Can he move the horse to a trainer of his choosing?

No don't believe you can because you could have 49 owners with 1%. Even if you own 51% you can't force a sale if the horse is average.

It is my understanding from people I know that have owned shares that regardless of what % you own, even 51%, you agree to give AM the right to make any and all decision regarding the horse. The only right you have is to write checks. This below is straight from the Stable.Ca website which shows you are not even allowed to know who your partners are so that you may speak with them. Here is the statement they make:

Unfortunately, due to privacy restrictions, we cannot share or openly post all of the names of clients associated with each horse.

whats wrong with that..
Just what I need is some 1% dope calling me & vomiting his expertise upon me..
People can do with their money as they please...

& PS LOVE THE RED BOARDING
amazing how everyone had that horse LOL
GIMME SOME MONEY..I am looking for pound notes, loosee change, bad checks, anything..

My point being is that if you own 51% of any horse with anyone you would think you should have some say in what happens when. But you are right, if all you can afford to buy is 1% of a horse and you do that with AM you are a dope.

some people like to do that.
Go to the barn, limit their exposure..It is probably not economically the best way to profit but don't see the harm
some people  buy 2 shares of apple stock..
& truthfully if you can buy 51% of a horse then there is really no need to do it through the stable..

GIMME SOME MONEY..I am looking for pound notes, loosee change, bad checks, anything..

PL where have you been hiding. Any luck this year? Have to disagree with the buying of 2 shares of apple. There isn't a monthly cost to go with the stock. It either goes up or down and you just put it away.

As bad as those 2 yr old numbers are, the 3 yr old performances are more embarrassing for the stable.  Everyone with shares in the few successful 2 yr olds should be selling them for a profit now.

Cigar still butt hurt so his defense mechanism takes charge lol. Go ahead compare a young two yr old with a high liver count that by putting him away early after 5 races. To a old cheap claimer... wow you got me. My feelings are hurt  ngc3. Also know your facts that the IRB caved on that positive with all the information we had that they gave back the days the trainer had which was a first for the IRB. It was up to me to give that back...but I did what was right for my trainer so we could go forward. That's what a good responsible owner would do knowing what was right. I know after 11 years in this game that I didn't ruin a horse when it was turning lame, or couldn't compete, that turnout was better. That after eleven years and 1,000's of starts with all the horses I have raced just one positive and it was thrown out months later. So go ahead with your theory if human athletes take medications and drugs it's ok for horses to do the same. Kill the pain over hay and oats. Good luck cheating Cigar!! I would rather what from the sideline. PS...nobody counts money just point out the failure parts of the stable. You never said ig 66 US a day for a middle of the road operation with cheap horses is a good rate for a newbie?

Bottom line when we get done taking shots at each other is,  who is going to step up and do it the right way?  So a newbie doesn't get forced to sell a horse he liked cause he had no say.  Where the newbie doesn't have to eat another winter of training cause its in AM's best interest.
