Jayregopark:
when Yonkers used to handle about 2.5 mill a night, and if you wanted to get into parking lot, you had better have a couple of bucks in your hand and out the window. Despite that there were nights when the lot was full, and you couldn't get in at all. I see the handles on TVG now, and wonder  that they are still open.

well according to certain members on this site it won't be around for too much longer, so you may not be wondering anymore in the near future

VicD:
They stopped doing that much business after Sept. 1, 1976 when the Meadowlands opened.
In the 80's Yonkers looked like an open sewer. The place and the people were disgusting.
Now they handle about 25% of that number, and if you adjust for today's dollars, they are probably doing about 10% of the old numbers.
They had a good run there but it's over now.

augustaandy:
more gambling options now

Bobbo:
Back in the 60s  on Friday and Saturday nights, Yonkers attendance was larger than Yankee games.  In fact in 2020 Yonkers attendance was larger than Yankee games.
