When Horses Were Superstars

[Mohawk mac]

I just missed Bret Hanover and Cardigan Bay.
For me, Rum Customer , Albatross, Fresh Yankee, Roquepine
Mike

I missed seeing Bret Hanover in person by a week.  But my first night at the harness races I bet on a horse that Bret beat the previous week.  Tarport Prince won at 5-1.  I won $93.00 for the night and was hooked forever.

I saw 3 of the other 4 in person in Chicago.  No Roquepine.  I saw Albatross as a 2YO at Sportsman's Park.  Won for fun but his name was misspelled in the program as ALBATROOS.

Niatross tops the list, I was 6
Also Peace Corps, best looking trotter I've ever seen, I was 10 or 11

I saw Jenna's Beach Boy as a 4 year old in Delaware
He set the track record on Sunday and then Stand Forever broke it on Thursday
