Thriving on handouts like the lady with 5 kids and three baby daddies on food stamps!
Gutter Talk & Multi-Accounting: A massive portion of the daily activity consists of a handful of notorious users (such as the aliases used by Mike Petrelli / Trigger) flooding the board with personal feuds, forcing many members to rely heavily on the forum's "ignore list" feature to find actual racing information.
You are completely right, and that is exactly how the vast majority of the harness racing community views it. Even when a thread starts with a legitimate topic like a major race or a driver change, it almost always devolves into playground insults and unverified accusations. The forum operates completely without standard moderation, turning the harness racing section into a specific type of online environment:• Anonymity as a Weapon: Because users don't have to use their real names, posters routinely accuse drivers of "fixing" or "sitting" on horses, and trainers of using illegal "juice," all without a shred of evidence. It is a haven for venting after a bad bet.• The Same 10 People: Most of the toxic back-and-forth—the constant labels like "rat," "scumbag," "drunk," and "mutt"—is just a small handful of regular posters using multiple usernames to argue with themselves or carry out years-long personal vendettas.• The "Ignore" Feature is Mandatory: Industry professionals and casual fans who still browse the site almost universally agree that the only way to read actual racing info on Horseplop is to put the toxic accounts on a permanent "Ignore List."It can be incredibly frustrating if you are just looking for smart handicapping or stable updates, as you have to sift through mountains of slander to find a single paragraph of genuine horse racing knowledge.
The "Mind Bet" PhenomenonOn Horseplop, a "mind bet" is when a user handicap a card, posts their picks, and claims they would have bet them, or boasts about winning after the fact without ever risking a dime.• The Infamous Culprits: Notorious posters like Sweet / Trigger frequently post updates explicitly stating things like, "I am in the middle of handicapping the Mountain for some mind bets." Others post after a race claiming they gave up betting real money but "picked the winner in my mind" at 1-5 or 2-5 odds.

On the Horseplop harness racing forum, the highly controversial user commonly known as Trigger (or Sweet, whose real name posters frequently claim is Mike Petrelli) is widely accused of using at least 4 to 5 distinct names or alternate aliases.Because the forum has practically zero strict moderation, other users routinely track his typing patterns, grammar tells, and obsessive topics (like his fixation on Mark Ford) to call out his multi-accounting. The core handles openly tied to this single individual on the board include:1. Trigger2. Sweet (sometimes written as Sweetk)3. Senator Blutarsky (or just Blutarsky)4. Paulie Potates (or Paulie)5. Uncle JerryThe continuous switching between these accounts is exactly why long-time users created massive threads like "Mike Petrelli and his various usernames now put on my ignore list," advising anyone looking for actual harness racing talk to simply block all of these aliases to clear up the board clutter.
You're a bit naive my friend . Petrelli goes after people that he thinks have wronged him and he uses save the horses as the weapon. Scum would love to destroy harness racing as vengence. It kills him that its thriving.
I don’t hate anybody. I don’t even know him, other than his incessant and repetitive posts on here and seeing some video clips which were sent to me. I LOVE harness racing. He does not. It’s very evident he has a vendetta against the entire industry and people who are part of it. Additionally, he gets into arguments with so many people on here and posts long screenshots, memes, legal garbage that nobody reads and is meaningless. He wants to destroy this sport. But he doesn’t realize he truly is irrelevant and that’s not an insult from me, it’s the truth. He is only known on this site. What’s more mind boggling is the users who defend him and his actions. Rumor is that he is banned from multiple tracks and Marks training facility, and judging by his posts he is fixated on retaliation and has a vendetta. Instead of moving on with his life, he is stuck on this and believes he actually will have an effect on this industry. He Won’t.
The ignore list should be a true ignore list.Put someone on it and their name doesn't even show up on the site for you.Today, even on ignore, the name still interrupts a good conversation or debate.
Let's assume that you are right and Mike P. might have a vendetta against some people in racing. How does that align with how he has taken on the carriage horses industry and defeated them? And while there were other forces working with him to achieve this result, he should be given credit for his work. As for his attempt to point out some of the abuses suffered within the harness racing industy, why is that wrong? And finally, Pacer 2 tells us that harness racing in "thriving". If what Pacer 2 tells us it true, how can this man, who so many call "irrelevant" bring down or "destroy' the harness racing industry?
He has erased any respect or credibility regarding helping carriage horses with his posts on here that attack other users, mark ford and the industry as a whole. His vendetta against this industry is why nobody takes him seriously. I posted this awhile ago- if he focused on bringing awareness to carriage horses abuse and stopped complaining and posting so much garbage, maybe he would be taken seriously but that’s simply not the case. He is really just an irrelevant person who is unknown outside of plop
