Beau Jungles......gutless dog VS Top Colts
« on: Today at 07:37:35 AM »
Great at 2

but lets face it.....whenever challenged he folded

like a cheap Woolworth kids accordion.

At 2 raced all in Canada and faced almost nothing.

Ducked the Jug and the M Pace.

Gotta give it to Ian Moore...

Racked up 2 mil with this guy which is incredible.

Every time I see he wins OSS against nothing

and then pretty much off the board against the A

horses.

but maybe I am wrong?

He actually raced well Saturday
JMac drove him piss poorly
Gutted him to the half in an elimination race

Agree 100% and James has done Beau Jangles no favors. J-Mac is usually a patient driver. His drives on Beau leave a lot to be desired.

Now its james' fault--c'mon man. The horse was an elite Arazi-type two year old that has not been able to replicate as a three year old. The eye test indicates he has no heart and has nothing to do with trip. Plus, Doc Moore wants them driven like that, just ask David Miller. I will say this three year season is meh at best, with no clear superstar.

Just thinking back,, thought I saw on the Scioto program that James Macdonald was now part of the ownership group of Beau Jangles.. did I see that right.?

Beau Jangles is among the top echelon 3 year old pacing colts, but is nothing special. Question is what do his owners do about standing him at stud or racing? Am guessing he will not race at 4 and risk even further de-valuing him. But at the same time no one would give him a very lucrative stallion deal, either.

From what I here In Canada many breeders are taking a shot with Captains Quarters....

In NY they are trying Nijinsky.

Redland Rocket Man, he's pretty good and is an OSS starter against Beau

Beau had to beat 3 horses to make the final. I have friends who owned many horses. When 1 wasn't racing well they would try to trip it out. It was to brave up the horse. James has not done this. The horse is not succeeding on the front. Why keep doing it and fast fractions to boot.
I agree he is no longer the horse he was at 2.

I'll tell you why: he got away third and he was never coming first up with Beau so he opted to drive on, try to steal a quarter and sprint home. He flew down with Doc and I'm sure as now part owner he was told he was trained this week, the first time Doc's done that with Beau in some time. The horse is toast, it's not the driver--never was---the sickness is a thing of the past, he just doesn't have the will to fight off horses and he's racing in the top class---very bad combination. The real head scratcher is why would James buy into this guy knowing what has transpired with him this year.
