Whatever you say Mike! Actually if you think about it,,, you're one of the worst. John Campbell has done GREAT job. It's a shame you don't know how things work in this business.

I saw an interview. John made it seem that planning for the Hambletonian was complex. He was so over the top. That leads me to believe he does next to nothing. John goes to tracks to present trophies. Most would want to make his money for that.

If you google his job description it gives alot of details, seems like more administrative stuff than anything, along with travelling to alot of tracks. $220,000 is not an outrageous salary for President of the Hambo Society in my opinion.

$220k is a pretty healthy salary for a figure head.
John Campbell had zero business experience acquiring the job.   If it's administrative, he will have some professional administrator doing 90% of that work.
He's being paid for his name, which is less and less known every day.

Correct. If you rounded up 1000 people and asked them who John Campbell was, maybe 10 would know.

True, but almost anyone involved in harness racing has heard of him. Think they made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Would be interesting to know how much the previous President Tom Charter was making.

I have lost all respect for Campbell. Having the Breeder Crown in a northern city at a track without an enclosed grandstand is stupid. Moving the Hambo to track with 1/3 the handle of the Meadowlands is stupid. So many races are going to be forced to change their schedule next year.

It is overpaid if the person does the job poorly.
