Lexington Sale 2026 Anybody here buy a yearling?
« on: October 15, 2026, 09:16:25 PM »
Very tough to see the trotters we bought last year were triple the price with the same or similar sires.
I hear London sales very very low and Harrisburg is anybody's guess but some interesting ones: Jum Jabber,
Ari Ferrari and others....

I read that London's average was 7% over 2025's average.

Where did you hear London's sales were very very low??

I heard that the London sale sold 265 for 5.4 million; Hunterton sold 23 on the first night for 5 million......

Why dont you give an example? It's like Anthony spouting off about how he got a 1/2 to a great horse. Then you dig a little but and the horse had 3 OCD's taken out of 3 different joints. The sharp and seasoned horsemen buy the individual and care very little if was a full brother who made a fortune as it rarely repeats.

Sure an example is

Special Orchid (Walner/Father Patrick) Hip 155 in the 2025 Lexington sale for $60,000.00
True Honor (Walner/Father Patrick) Hip 353 in the 2026 sale; both from Special Honor $200,000.00

That happened with 2 others that I own.

The point is that Lexington was super expensive where the top guns overpaid for the best ones and the small guys didn't have a chance.  Thank goodness the horse doesn't know it's price.  I don't know the London sale but the average price was much less.
i didn't know the sales price was up year over year.  Next stop Harrisburg.

At London buyers are trying to get lucky and buy an OSS gold horse.   (almost all Ontario breds)

At Lexington buyers are trying to get lucky and buy a Grand Circuit champion.

Harrisburg should be interesting.   Everyone that got shut out at Lexington and London need to get their work done, and will probably overpay for the mid range horses.

I bought a few at Lexington and have many, including 2 broodmares.  I bet the horses for decades and am now enjoying
ownership.  As a lawyer I see so many things that are wrong that I sought and became admitted in Kentucky.  And I
am not looking for any new work at my age. Lexington was exciting on day 1.  Ive bought several at Harrisburg and of course I
like a few.
