"Excuse me Mr. President, on Kimberly Guilfoyle, she was almost a member of your family, how surprised were you to learn about these allegations? What do you make of them?" a reporter asked.
"No... She wasn't a member of my family. She, uh, I guess dated my son a long time ago but she wasn't— No," replied Trump.
"She, uh... She went to Greece. She was doing a good job but we didn't like what we were reading so we figured with that..." he trailed off.
What he's "reading" is the bombshell reporting that Guilfoyle asked a MAGA donor to pay off $100,000 in American Express debt in return for access to top administration officials.
God only knows how many other members of the administration are engaged in similar personal enrichment schemes, Guilfoyle was just stupid enough to talk about it over text message. She clearly belongs in prison, but can we even blame her for thinking that she'd get away with it? Trump is lording over the most corrupt, money-grubbing administration in American history. These people are raking in money hand over fist. She assumed that no one would care if she got in on the action, she just wasn't competent enough to pull it off.
As for Trump's efforts to distance himself from her now that she's even more radioactive than him, it's pathetic. In reality, Guilfoyle was almost a Trump. She began dating Don Jr. in 2018, got engaged to him in 2020, and then they broke off the engagement in 2024 after Don Jr. became involved with his now-wife Bettina Anderson. In other words, this was not "a long time ago." In fact, she was in their family Christmas photo in 2023, standing right beside Ivanka.
This is what happens to everyone who gets in bed with Trump. Lie down with the dogs and you get up with fleas.
