Besides his 2 Hambo races, Big Ranger has raced against absolute garbage in Ohio

The colts that is. In the filly Futurity, Busy Miss Lissy S got AE 1 after they re-drew the race.

Mostly true..except for..Tom Largo
Tom Largo has been his main competition
He is not a slouch
21 starts..11 wins..7 seconds..almost half a million in earnings lifetime
Lifetime mark of 151.4 at the Meadows

In regards to Big Ranger
I'd love to own  a trotter that has raced against absolute garbage that has banked
a million bucks and won 14 of 17 starts lifetime

Exactly...bottom line is how much has he made.  Why does it matter who he has beaten?  Lost by a whisker in the Hambo...that is quit an accomplishment for any horse.  He's no good because he didn't win that race?  He beat 8 really good horses and barely lost to the winner.

Because the owners tout him as same great horse

3 more races and off to stud.

0% shot of racing at 4

Ducked most of the races.

 Barely a blip in history

Most every ligit horseman I have ever known would love to have some of that Ohio garbage in their barn.

I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

Cheap fractions?  He was parked passed a half that went in 54 flat.

Yes, cheap fractions and he cleared well before the half, then got a 28.1 third quarter, asshole

While we will never know how the race would have gone had Apex not gone for a stroll, Nix Nacken at 17-1 from the rail was a huge overlay given his last race and overall form for the year.

Horse can make a great deal of money while ignoing the Grand Circuit. That is not a good thing.

It matters to fans/customers.  If you want fans you need the best horses racing each other week after week at the biggest events at as many tracks as possible. It is time to end the handouts.

Beau Jangles, to some extent Confederate are other examples. Why race the top horses when there is big money in the sire stakes. It is time to end the handouts.
