I'm not sure it is telling at all.This is an entertainment site where people love to bust other people's balls. Mike draws a response because he spends a lot of time on here battling it out over "horse care and safety".But seriously, if that is what someone really cares about, the last place they should be wasting significant energy trying to change it, is on a site like this. Total waste of time and energy.So then, you have to ask the question WHY?
I think this site is where some people "bust other people's balls". Not everyone is the same on here. I have watched the videos of Mike on TV. Public officials by his side. And it's an important topic. Some here on Plop care.Some don't. And you're right. His crusade here on Plop probably means little. But someone must care. Over 50% of the posts on "harness racing" is about him.
Great Dougie ..... If you are talking or messaging with Mike, tell him what a substantial difference he is making in the horse world, spreading his word and arguing with anonymous people on Horse Plop. I would tell him ..... get the hell off of here completely and use the saved time and energy to interact with people that have the connections and where with all, to help you enact change.
From what I know, he's doing both. Inside and outside of Plop. The big question I have to ask is. Are all the ones who hate him truly anonymous? Or do some of them, in the biz for many years, truly know each other for real? Maybe the tirades toward him are on a truly personal level.

Mike, adding hey dumbass or hey stupid at the beginning of your responses, doesn't do anything to validate your argument.When I say some of your advocacy may be on a personal level, I'm not referring to your love of horses but rather your advocacy may be based on a personal hatred for some of the horsemen you go after.
Fact will always remain fact no matter the way it's conveyed. Deal with it. Not my fault a very small few chose to make an example of a horseman with a pristine tree record and no liability to anyone. They made that personal, and here we are. Not my problem and nobody can stop me. You think what's said here matters???
