BREAKING: James Talarico Calls Out Ken Paxton for Ducking All 3 Debates He Agreed To Over a Month Ago
James Talarico is done waiting on Ken Paxton to show up.
"I agreed to 3 debates over a month ago. You declined every single one," Talarico posted, responding directly to Paxton's own attack ad. "You love to talk tough on Fox. Say it to me on the debate stage."
Paxton had just spent his own post accusing Talarico of hiding his record and warning donors that Talarico would become "California's third Senator," pushing them toward his website. What Paxton didn't mention is that he's had three separate chances to make that exact case directly to Talarico, on a stage, in front of voters, and passed on all three.
The timing makes it worse for Paxton. Even Fox News' own reporting, visible in the clip Paxton posted himself, showed a chyron reading "Talarico leads Paxton in 3 South Texas districts." Paxton is attacking a candidate who's currently ahead of him in his own state, using a network whose own graphics are working against him, while refusing to debate the guy at all.
Talking tough in an ad is easy. Standing across a debate stage from the person you're attacking is a different kind of tough, and so far Paxton hasn't found it.
