GREATEST GAME EVER
« on: July 04, 2026, 05:58:10 PM »
My family had Mets season tickets at Shea for many years. Unfortunately, when my Dad died, that ended so I wasn't at this game but I promise you, this was the greatest game I still have ever seen.

Sorry about the circumstances MC.

Bill Buckner, this is a legendary classic  ngc3

Even curb made an episode so he could redeem himself fictionally.

The cruelty MC  ;D

The Curb episode is a classic. I saw an interview with Larry David where he said the original script had Buckner dropping the baby. That would have been hysterical.

If it was Larry, he would of dropped, then went to grab and kicked the baby in traffic  ngc3

Let's not forget, he tripped Shaq  ;D

Greatest choke job ever by the Boston Red Sox. Brought to you by. McNamara the dumb manager. And the absolutely lights out bullpen with aces Bob Stanley and Calvin Schiraldi. And let’s not forget the award winning first baseman Billy “between the legs” Buckner. I made an absolute fortune on this World Series.

Yes, he was "planted" on the Red Sox by the Mets the prior fall for precisely this act of sabotage, as well as bringing Bobby Ojeda (18 game winner with a 1.09 WGIP for the 1986 Mets) to the Mets!!

He sure was great. Used to steal a ton of bases before he became crippled which is surely why he made that error. I blame it all on McNamara. Should have replaced Buckner for defense.
