Re: Is the US-Iran ‘war’ over yet?

Fox News DESTROYS Trump's insane lie that the Strait of Hormuz is open and under his "total control" with a brutal bubble-popping segment.
It's time for White House staff to scrape hurled burgers off the wall again...
“Usually, about one-fifth of the world’s liquefied natural gas trade moves through there as well. Despite President Trump claiming total control over the Strait, traffic has slowed, really, to a trickle if you look at this," said Fox host Bret Baier on "Special Report."
Yesterday, the President made the deranged and patently false claim that the United States has "total control" over the Strait, adding "I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT."
In reality, Iran controls the Strait. Their drone and missile capabilities allow them to harass — and if need be sink — any ships that pass through without their permission. They have the world economy in a chokehold and no amount of Trumpian gaslighting is going to change that fact.
Baier explained that just 8 vessels sailed through Hormuz on Monday, followed by 14 on Tuesday. He pointed out that before the war started, more than 100 vessels a day were crossing.
In other words, thanks to Trump igniting a pointless, failed war on behalf of Israel, shipping through the Strait has cratered to roughly 10% of the pre-conflict traffic. You are paying more at the gas and grocery store because this "very stable genius" got hoodwinked by Netanyahu, the most transparent, self-serving liar imaginable.
“Now, those are constraints, and it’s changing the government’s energy outlook,” Baier said. “… And there’s another problem building as well. The International Energy Agency says global crude oil inventories fell by 2.2 million barrels a day in July. It expects a global supply deficit of 1.8 million barrels a day in the third quarter. That’s more than double its previous estimate.”
Iran itself has responded directly to Trump's false claims on X, with their Persian Gulf Strait Authority writing: "The repeated claims and Tweets by U.S. officials regarding the Strait of Hormuz being open do not change the reality:  The Strait of Hormuz remains closed and will not be reopened until all of Iran’s conditions are met.”
This Hormuz debacle is the natural end point of a political movement that has become completely untethered from reality. Trump isn't interested in actually reopening the Strait because he's lazy and that would not only take hard work, but involve admitting that he lost this war. Instead, he knows that he can lie about it being open and his supporters — who couldn't point to the Persian Gulf on a map if their lives depended on it — will eagerly lap it up.
