A great ambassador for the sport. A very talented young driver who promotes the sport very well. Hopefully, more young people will follow his work habits.

It's ok that an ambassador and promoter of the sport has englom training a horse for him?

That doesn't make it ok.  But the game is full of scumbags.

Going to be watching those races tonight and rooting for Beckwith tonight. I rarely bet harness racing anymore, but I might tonight if I can get a price on any of his horses. LOL!

He’s driving 1 of mine at Saratoga on Sunday.  That’s a surprise.

I give this kid credit he's really the only beckwith that ever amounted to anything. The father is a nice guy but nothing like this kid.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
