Look at the first 5 races at Cumberland today. All chalk. How can anyone bet that track?

Very tough to make any money there. Pools are small and a $50 bet can make a horse go from 5-1 to 8-5. The facility is really a county fair venue. No real food, broken bathrooms, nestled in a beautiful area.

No one in maine racing cares about the handle or spectators or anything else like that
They only care about keeping the welfare money coming from the state.

It is a $2 to $20 bet per race kind of track.  Fun to bet small, watch, and enjoy.

The bathrooms now work. the best food I had at a Maine track is in the paddock at Cumbe. It is way better than what is in the betting area at Cumbe or Bangor. LOL but no beer in the paddock.
