Jessica Otten quits Meadowlands
« on: April 27, 2026, 11:50:40 PM »
Jessica Otten is joining the Eldorado Scioto Downs team for the 2026 racing season. Otten has been working on updating the TV graphics for the track and will be seen on-air conducting paddock interviews, providing race analysis and creating additional content for social media and the simulcast show. She has also been busy setting up on-track promotions to make the guest experience better at the track.

"I’m very excited to join the team at Scioto Downs,” said Otten. “I’ve been working 2 nights a week at the Meadowlands for the past few years as a per diem employee and I really need to make a living. Scioto runs 5 nights a week starting next week and then 4 nights a week from August through October.  It's sad that the future doesn't look very bright in New Jersey but I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute and grow within such a strong environment.”

“It is great having Jessica join the team,” said Scioto’s Director of Racing, Jason Roth. “Her experience in the industry both on and off air will help us immensely. She has worked big events in the past and will be a huge part of making us successful with the 2026 Breeders Crown.”

I’m surprised it took her so long to quit the Meadowlands,  two nights a week for lousy pay .Tough to pay the bills on that

Not to mention she had to follow Little in the buffet line and pickings are slim after he goes through!

Leaving the sinking ship early, handwriting on the wall. NO CASINO NO BIG M! Big M gets less important every year, Ky, Indiana and Ohio are where the action is headed. She made a good decision. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper to live, just ask Purple Jesus.

If it wasn’t for the meadowlands no one would even know who she was . And why would she take a shot at them by saying racing in New Jersey looks sad or whatever the hell she said . She will be a groom for life.
