when you pre-race a horse are you affecting or trying to affect the outcome of a sporting event?
when a trainer gives a driver specific instruction is that race fixing?

people pre race horses every day at muktiple places per day. whether it works or not doesn't matter. if you have a positive you cheated. some cheaters are better than others and get away with more with less punishment. depends on who you are.

For a gambler or a fan soft racing = small prices and giving up holes is the worst form of cheating.    IM good with guys setting up priced horses as most horsemen have patterns you can read but those days are over and today its setting up the 1-2 shot,    Drugs have always been part of the game but with many moves and hard racing on movement tracks overlays were on the menu but today its all underlays,      Mohawk might be the most corrupt track in the history of racing with huge odds drops when the gate opens on horses in perfect position and many holes given up with very very few 20-50 to one shots ever looking for a two hole trip and in most races by the time they hit the quarter its sitting chalk chalk.   if you think it can not get worse at the hawk your wrong as i have seen horses pay 2-80 that shock the shit out of me.             Who does not cheat in some way,  now thats a tough one.      horse racing site and this topic gets no flow are you f--king kidding me,       i am not sure who is the  most to blame between management and drivers or judges but all three are pure shit and you always get a shit show,      At WEG the enemy to them is not the cheat but its the very very few who hate the cheaters,        Go up to WEG management and tell them a horse went 5-1 to8-5 leaving and they will tell you the public got it right or tell the a exactor with 12-1 with 7-1 should pay more than 70 dollars and they will tell you the payoff was fine.

One of the reasons for harness racing's steep decline is the perception that the races are "rigged". And while many here seem to know most of the "cheaters' in the game, I didn't see it with my trainer. Of course I could be wrong. But at Pompano, there were indictments and trials over the years of certain trainers, drivers, owners,etc. who were eventually convicted and forced to leave the grounds. I used to wonder how harness racing folks could survive on some of the purses provided at the smaller tracks. I guess they figure cheating and "making a score" to live and pay their bills was their justification for their criminal behavior. As for your statement that there is cheating in "baseball, basketball, and football", i'm sure theres some bad actors their too!

i respect your posts and you have pinpointed some obvious problems...but i have to disagree somewhat.. the worst part of cheating is filling a horse up with Peds...with absolutley no regard for the horse...or sending them to race as lame ducks and then whine because the vet scratches them as they score down

From a moral standpoint you are correct but from a betting standpoint i am correct,,,,,,,,  but for sure you are right from a kindness standpoint.
