Meadowlands winter racing
« on: Today at 12:35:06 AM »
I might be in the minority but I find that the racing over the last 2 mos. Without the big guns is actually a much better product for wagering.
I say this because you can toss out at least half of any field simply because the pilot is easy to identify as one that you really can’t bet.
When the guns are here, literally every horse has a good quality driver aboard and you can never toss out a horse because of a substandard driver being on board. This concept applies to the amateur races as well as many of them are auto tosses.
Curious if anyone one else agrees with this?

Colin Kelly 5 wins, BB 3 wins out of 14 races...tomorrow's racing there is Cancelled.

It's like McDonald's overpriced food (handle inflated with CAW) and a very cheap product in the menu served (Quality of the horses / purses).

Gural's Mickey D's  ngc3

Enjoy!  ;D

If you enjoy watching slightly better than Freehold quality racing with "B" "C" "D" and amateur drivers then I'm happy for you. I find the product almost unwatchable and rarely bet it.

This is how everyone feels,      No one wants to look at 4 races a day were the 3/5 horse ran 8 beaten 22 and dropping to get in a class with other horses that are coming off dismal races and by the end of the race from first to last you need a telescope,           Northfield  and Mohawk always start the first race with with a 2/5 horse that is dropping into a non winners of a peanut and these horses seem to win with ease against other horse that have been fading in their past races,          Open a program up from 15 years ago and these racist did not  exist at the top tracks but if you do like races were most horses kill a race because they cant keep up.          At the runners they go 60 percent for first and that makes winning way more important than sitting on the rail and picking up nice purses and killing the look of what a race should not look like,        I have never seen a horse person on this  site ever come up with an idea to improve racing and i just read about disgruntled gamblers who want to watch and bet on a product that is exciting.      There is no better situation for any form of gambling than excitement for your betting dollar such as a football bet that is 50-50 with 3 minutes to go and see a QB in trouble and escaping with a perfect throw and a great catch and then 5 minutes later at 4 a bunch of new exciting games start and build your blood pressure to the moon by making you feel like you are part of the action,   Having people that do not gamble like big breeding people and horsemen run this sport have killed the game and these people should never be at the table when the topic of making this game better,      Places like weg put in a staggered gate and horsemen object and next it is taken away or added distant races like they have everywhere outside north AMERICA and again the horsemen dont like it and boom its gone or telling drivers no holes or a big fine and drivers who are over paid working MORONS not even making an attempt to follow that rule and boom it disappears but one GREAT idea that they have kept is the very popular SWINGER bet that has remained because of its popularity and the people who make these rules only making 6 digit pay for some of the great rules and decisions made who in their mind are under paid workers who have made this game were it is today and in line are the sons and daughters of these people who will make racing great again.

I am certainly not a horseman but here is an idea....

the leader at the 1/4 pole gets 10% of the purse
the leader at the 1/2 pole gets 10% of the purse
the leader at the 3/4 pole gets 10% of the purse

the other 70% you can divide to the top four finishers--maybe 40/15/10/5

at least the races would be more interesting to watch

I have not watched or handicapped the Meadowlands. My bets have been at Mohawk. I do look at results and see better payoffs.

Right or wrong this is what needs to be discussed in meeting the things that can make this product viable,     Something else this game needs is a reporter that is not controlled and in fear from the horrible people that run this game and when someone is cheating or abusing this game the reporter needs to feel he can write about it with out being fired,      The people reporting on this game with very carefully written articles have put this game in a state of crises and it still might be to late,    The game needs to drive people back to the track and a huge drop in rake for those at the track would maybe bring people back and get real handicappers not like RANDY or the guy at the BIG M who treats the game like its a circus and when talking about gambling he tell you exactly how not to play this game with the stupidity the comes out and he might be a nice guy but not qualified for his job,   A few years ago i was watching a show from SANTA ANITA and the guy who makes the track odds was not happy when he posted a horse called MASTER DERBY at 12-1 morning odds and he went off at 2-1 because he took his job with pride and wanted to do it like a pro and i said to myself is anyone watching this at any other racetrack.

At Mohawk did you ever in the past believe that one day you would see a 2-5 shot that you did not see being the favorite let alone 2-5   Do the people running this game that never gable understand this is going on.
