Oh, this will be a great thread. LOL.

Who "makes more"-----I have no idea. As far as who has more (net worth), I vote for Pletcher.

I kinda think Burke's ownership stake and number of horses gives him the edge despite lower training fees.

Pletcher has Arab money behind him. Burke has Amish money behind him.
Who do you think?

Burke had said back in the spring last year, his overhead to operate his stable was 1 million a month. I am sure that doesn't factor in acquisitions but, it may include breeding. Either way grossing 30 million leaves lots of room for additional costs and mistakes. Dividends must still be 10 million or better.

Burke by a mile, as he is part owner in the majority of horses he races.

Does it really matter, when their time is up, they're going to the same place.  68xv.2

Who do you think?

Fletcher has Mike Repoli money.  The guy invented vitamin water and sold to Coca Cola for $4 billion then came up with Body Armour and sold that to Coke for nearly $6 billion.
He’s also the reason Pitino is coaching at his alma mater St John’s.

I was at the Borgata on a sunday and saw todd pletcher playing 5-10 no limit and i only play limit so i was on the table in front of his and i never seen him speak one word while playing but i seen him get up often to make a bet and seen one of his bets and it was real small on a small priced horse,    i can not exactly remember the amount he bet but it was well under a hundred.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
